86th Airlift Wing leadership holds first all-calls Story and photos by Airman 1st Class Taylor D. Slater 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs The 86th Airlift Wing command team set aside two days last week to host their first all-calls since their arrival at Ramstein Air Base. Brig. Gen. Josh Olson, 86th AW commander, and Command Chief Master Sgt. Hope Skibitsky discussed their lives, wing priorities, expectations for the future, and COVID-19. “This is the biggest base on the globe from a combat employment (standpoint),” Olson said. “We have to defend the base.” The command team held a total of six all-calls during the two days. Approximately 150 Airmen from each group attended in person and adhered to host nation hygiene requirements. Airmen also had the opportunity to view each all-call See ALL-CALLS, Page 2

Devin Boyer 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs In an effort to strengthen distributed training capabilities, the U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa Warfare Center hosted a multinational exercise at their facility and various facilities around the world, Sept. 22-28. The exercise, Spartan Warrior 20-9, utilized the Warfare Center’s robust simulation assets to introduce air and ground scenarios for See SPARTAN WARRIOR, Page 3

The Airmen conducted the scenario in preparation for exercise Spartan Warrior 20-9. For SW 20-9, the Warfare Center pulled participants from Geilenkirchen, for the NATO Airborne Warning and Control System; Netherlands’ Control Reporting Centers; MQ-9 operators from Creech Air Force Base, Nevada; and other entities to include fighter assets from France.
