Pence addressed current world events such as negotiations with Turkey and the Airmen’s role at Ramstein in the European theater. “I’m proud to report that, thanks to the president’s strong leadership, the United States and Turkey have agreed to a cease-fire in Syria,” Pence said. “I know all of you here at Ramstein Air Base have been vital to our mission in that region for years.” Pence then elaborated on the work of Airmen assigned to the World’s Best Wing and expressed his gratitude for their dedication. “You make it possible to move troops and supplies to wherever they need to be in the world — 24/7, See VICE PRESIDENT, Page 2

The first sergeant, a title commonly referred to as “shirt” or “first shirt” is responsible for the morale, welfare and conduct of all the enlisted members in a squadron and is the chief adviser to the squadron commander regarding the enlisted force.
