MONSTER RIDE 2011! ...LEJOG... Lands End To John O始Groats is fast approaching for three ladies. On the 8th of August 2011 Kate Ryley, Emily Morrissey and Sian Belfield from Adventure Eyes will set off for the ride of their summer. Taking in over 800 miles through beautiful Britain and far too many hills, the gals will definitely have their work cut out! Taking just over two weeks the ladies will aim to ride approximately 70 miles a day to complete the charity ride in which all proceeds will go to Mountain Rescue England and Wales. Adventure Eyes, Dartmoor Cycles and Fisher Outdoor Leisure are supporting the ladies on this Monster Ride. It would be fantastic if you could also offer your support in any way that you can. Donations (big or small!) will be very gratefully received, similarly you can show your support by helping to spread the word or even passing on any words of wisdom, advice or recommendations. All will be much appreciated! In terms of other updates this month...

The Cornwall Climbing and Surfing Information Packs have been published and are now available free to download on the main site and the Blog. These handy pocket size guides give you the crucial info始 on the best adventure spots, together with descriptions, access maps, hazards to look out for, and top tips to make the most of your time out n始 about. More Adventure Information Packs are on their way this month too!

UK Adventure Related Events are now a major feature on the Adventure Search! If you始re wondering what the best shows, festivals and key events are in the outdoor world then Adventure Eyes is now the place to look. You have a handy calendar that you can scroll through or you can use the map to check different areas throughout Britain to 1] find out where you want to be!


Adventure specific forecasts are on! Sun, rain, wind or snow?! They all make a difference to what youʼre planning to do and where you are hoping to go. Now you have a quick check option on Adventure Eyes. You can now find out whether the rock will be dry at your favourite crag, or if the wind is off shore, onshore, in your face or on your back, or whether youʼre in for a dry camp or a wet one! Every area now has a selection of forecasts chosen for their proximity to different adventures. So if youʼre not sure where to go, or what to do, check the weather first, and let that help to guide your decision!

Sailing in Devon is live! Take a trip to the Adventure Eyes main site and youʼre in for a treat! Some beautiful Devonshire Sailing spots have been added to the site. With information on location, Harbour Offices, hazards for portage and slipways, this might be the very thing to inspire you to experience some new waters and if youʼve been to the places before then share your good times on the comments and photos pages. With more in depth information coming soon, the main site just keeps on growing.

Shot of the week is coming! Intrigued? Well, this is your opportunity to get your best camera shots published on the Adventure Eyes main site: An opportunity not to be missed! So if youʼve got some good adventure related photos then email them to us at photos@adventure-eyes.com. Each week we will select the best and it will be displayed as the main photo on the Memberʼs page of Adventure Eyes. It doesnʼt stop there though! Each weekly winner will be entered into a Quarterly Prize Draw. The winner of the best photo overall will then receive an Adventure prize worth hundreds! So get snapping and sending. The first weekly winner will be chosen and displayed on Monday 18th July.

A BIG one is on its way! The first of the big UK journeys is coming, all 630miles of it! The South West Coast Path is one of the ultimate long distance walks in Britain and very soon it will be published on Adventure Eyes. Not only will you be able to access routes, maps, and weather forecasts for every section online, we will also be publishing Adventure Information Packs for free download too!
