In Jan/Feb 2015 Dream Guides are proposing an amazing 8 day trip of a lifetime to Japan! In advance of our hotly anticipated launch of the Dream Guides Ski Japan guiding trip set to begin in 2016, this 2015 trip will incorporate unbeatable Japanese powder and charming culture!! We are planning to split our time between the powder famed north island of Hokkaido, visiting the resort of Asahidake and the popular Niseko, and a resort on the main Island called Nazawa Onsen, the hot spring village where the steam of the spring rises up through the coble streets. We will be accompanied by Dream Guides Director as well as one our guides Guy Willett, but we will also make use of local guides during our stay to take us to the best of the skiing! DAY 1 Flight to Tokyo - domestic flight transfer to Asahikawe airport on the north island of Hokkaido (approx. 1hour 50 - £80). Bus to Asahidake (1 hour). Check into the guest house in Asadihake and enjoy a relaxing post travel Onsen (natural hot spring).
DAY 6 Morning skiing at Niseko followed by afternoon transfer to Sappore airport (2.5 hours), a flight to Tokyo (1.5 hours - £100) and shuttle bus to Nazawa (5 hours). Arriving late to Nazawa Onsen, a hot spring and ski resort village near Nagano.
DAY 2 Ski the abundant powder in Asahidake. The Asahidake ski resort in Hokkaido Japan is a haven for all powder hounds. It’s essentially a backcountry ski area that has the luxury of being serviced by a cable car.
The skiing at Nozawa Onsen, Japan feels like taking a backseat relative to the charming village, which offers a curious and traditional Japanese experience. The village itself is famous for the abundance of hot springs that were discovered in the 8th century. Steam rises up everywhere amongst the bustling narrow cobblestone streets and the traditional ryokan inns and shops.
Asahidake has an abundance of powder with an average of about 14 metres of snow per season. This is the highest mountain in Hokkaido so the snow is kept super cold. DAY 3 Ski the Asahidake powder followed by transfer to Niseko after skiing, 3- 4hrs by car/ bus. Arrive late to Niseko village, check into Japanese style guesthouse known for its hot springs.
DAY 7 & 8 Ski the powder at Nazawa Onsen, enjoy the hot springs afterwards. DAY 9 Shuttle back to the Tokyo airport and outbound flight home.
DAY 4 & 5 Ski the Niseko range - this is one of the most popular and famous powder areas of Japan, where westerners migrate to experience the famed depth of the Siberian influenced snow. Three major resorts, Grand Hirafu, Niseko Village and Annupuri, cover most of the southeastern half of the mountain while a few smaller resorts dot their perimeter.
