CLIMBING WEEEKEND Monaco is a fascinating place, home for the stars and full of glamour - but not as expensive as you might think. There are lots of reasonably priced, stylish bars and restaurants on the harbour and beach fronts. This weekend provides a great combination of rock climbing and relaxing in style! Our rock climbing courses in Monaco are a perfect long weekend break for the budding sport climber. The crags of la Thurbie offer great, sunny rock climbing over looking Monaco and the Mediterranean. There are quality routes from French 4 right through to the highest grades on fantastic Mediterranean limestone. We focus on single pitch (bolt protected) sport climbing where climbers of different standards can happily climb routes at the same crag. There are slabs, vertical walls and overhanging walls as well - something for everyone. We stay in a hotel just 5 minutes walk from Monaco’s famous casino square. Sun, sea and rock climbing - the perfect combination!

Our Monaco Hot Rock climbing weekend is for beginner rock climbers - a great location to get started and progress fast, Indoor climbers - ideal for progressing to outdoor sport climbing, and sport climbing junkies - push your grade!
MONACO HOT ROCK WEEKENDSTYPICAL ITINERARY
Our experienced Rock Guides will make sure you get the most out of the weekend break. They will take you to the best crags with the most appropriate choice of routes, provide technique & performance coaching and teach good safety practices. We advice the following ability and fitness levels to make the most from this course;
FRIDAY - SUNDAY: 3 days of rock climbing followed by a relaxing drink, perhaps a dip in the Med and dinner on the harbour front.
THURSDAY: Arrive at Monaco and meet at the hotel in the evening.
SUNDAY EVENING: Departure and flight home.
ABILITY LEVEL: ROCK 1 - You have climbed indoors (toproping or leading) to F5+. You have little or no experience leading outdoors. FITNESS LEVEL: R - General fitness, good power to weight ratio and rock climbing specific fitness will help, but are not crucial due to the venues we visit. You will return a stronger, better climber and refreshed after a good break!

INSURANCE We strongly recommend getting specialist travel insurance that covers cancellation, medical and mountain rescue. Make sure that it covers rock climbing. We recommend the Dogtag (www.dogtag. co.uk) - they have comprehensive policies and a good reputation. KIT LIST Our guides will provide ropes and quick draws but if you would like to bring your own kit feel free to do so. Here are some of the basics that you will need: 1. Comfortable climbing Harness 2. Climbing shoes 3. Chalk bag and chalk 4. Belay device 5. Sun cream 6. Water bottle
7. Sun hat 8. Cool climbing clothes 9. Swim wear 10. Basic first aid kit including finger tape 11. Comfortable walking shoes for the approach to crags 12. Backpack for day trips

Getting to Monaco Nice is the nearest airport, being about 20-30 minute drive along the coastal motorway. Hiring a car or getting a taxi is the best option. Get in touch when you organise your flights and we will help coordinate the group to make use of sharing hire cars/ taxis. Accommodation Details of the hotel will be sent to you close to the time of departure. We usually stay in the hotel Olympia in Beausoleil, just a few minutes walk from Casino Square.
