Wattles’ TRL season ends on high
We were very lucky, in the fact that we were packed up just in time before the rain began to fall.

Day 2 saw the groups participate in indigenous games, orienteering, canoeing and more tree planting.
A few quick team building games and it was time to get back on the bus and head home.
That first night we were lucky enough to go on a night walk before if was time for bed and an early start the next day.

On our second night, the students watched an early movie and bed time was nice and early due to some weary travellers.

Top Camp fire sends five to hospital
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were alerted to the fire, originating from a third-storey chimney, at 5.10pm.
Overall Queensland road fatalities increased from 197 in 2021 to 214 for the same period in 2022.
This statistic becomes more alarming when a comparison of fatalities of all 15 Police Districts is made as the Darling Downs has the highest number of fatalities being equal with the Far Northern Region and Capricornia Region.

“This is not just very expensive to repair but can also cut power to entire districts for extended periods while repairs are undertaken.”

“Jobs shortages are top of mind for a lot of Queenslanders at the moment and we know a lot of these journeys start with education,” Mr Butcher said.
Other schools involved include Concordia Lutheran College in Toowoomba and Meringandan and Haden State Schools.
“On top of that, this project will also help students engage in that STEM curriculum and develop design-led thinking and problem solving skills,” Ms Grace said.
“With a combination of amazing teachers and industry supported STEM education programs thriving in the region already, being able to supplement this with the Makers Empire program is going to take STEM education to the next level.”
Minister for Education Grace Grace said the project aims to give teachers professional development opportunities, essential to helping them deliver the critical STEM subjects.
Activities included presentations about exciting developments and pathways in the manufacturing sector.

It seems there had never been any romantic feelings between the two yet after some weeks of consideration she bravely boarded a sailing ship for a three month voyage to Queensland where she married a young Walter Hume.
The brave move to train as a surveyor proved to be a good decision as the demand for land in the Toowoomba region was growing rapidly as new immigrants flooded into the colony attracted by the promise of good farming land and surveyors were in high demand.
