N u m u r ka h Fo o d b owl Fe s tiva l event director, Jamie Lea said, “The event is in it’s ninth year and given that Numurkah and outlining towns have so much to offer, we’re are all looking forward to another fantastic festival showcasing a wide variety of elements from Numurkah and surrounds.” Jamie truly believes the Numurkah Foodbowl Festival can do fantastic things for the region,
but the most important result it can have is to bring the whole of the local community together to celebrate everything Numurkah has to offer. Jamie said, “The parade is always a lot of fun and we’d like to invite people to register their interest, we’re looking for acts, stalls holders and float entrants. With so much fantastic community involvement, this year’s festival is set to highlight t h e r i c h a n d d i ve r s e f l avo u r s o f N u m u r k a h a n d s u r ro u n d i n g districts. Enjoy a beautiful morning ‘walk and talk’ to learn about the birdlife of Numurkah’s wonderful wetlands. Visiting waders will be nesting and many local birds will be breeding too. Expert guides from our local Broken Creek Field Naturalists Club along with members of BirdLife Murray Goulburn will help you find and identify the resident birds. Delicious, tantalising and social experience IT is definitely one of the most tantalising events of the Numurkah Foodbowl Festival, and once again this year the Long Slow Brunch won’t disappoint. Running on Sunday, October 22 from 10:30am at Train Park in Melville Street on the serene banks of the Broken Creek, chefs, Adam and Rocky from the
Butler’s Pantry will cook up a storm of for the delightful champagne breakfast, including a first course of breakfast bruchetta, avocado salsa and smoked salmon on ciabatta, with lemon myrtle and tarragon cream. And the fifth and final course will be cheese fondue served with assorted fruits, fig log, crispy prosciutto, and toasted garlic oil ciabatta soldiers. N u m u r k a h F o o d b ow l F e s t i v a l organiser, Chris McPherson said, “Last year we had a fantastic turnout for the brunch, and we are hoping to get 100 people there this year to enjoy the delicious dishes. “The location is just perfect for a nice gathering of family and friends. “As with last year, there is a wet weather program, so people will be fed in a warm and safe and secure environment if the weather turns sour.” The Long Slow Brunch costs $65 per person. Celebrating right until the end THERE’S no need to be sad once this year’s Numurkah Foodbowl Festival comes to an end, because you can help to celebrate with the newly introduced, Festival Wrap-up Party. The festival is all about bringing everyone together, and the wrapup party is no exception. Running from 5pm at the Telegraph Hotel, the final event for this year’s festival will provide committee members and organisers with a way to thank the community for their involvement in this year’s festival with live music, food and drinks at bar prices.
