School Holiday fun and entertainment galore! GET ready for fantastic school holiday fun and entertainment at Riverside Plaza these school holidays. Week one of the Riverside Plaza School Holiday Program kicks off on Monday, June 29 with the brand new Muffin Break Cookie Creation workshop; ‘kids’ will enjoy creating and decorating delicious cookies with the Muffin Break team, (bookings for this event are essential see below for more details). Friday, July 3 will see the return of the popular Woodturners Of The Goulburn Valley, where for just a gold coin donation to support Shepparton Search and Rescue Squad and Goulburn Valley Hospice Care Services, ‘kids’ can make something of their own. SHEPPARTON Art Museum (SAM) is excited to have just released their latest 12 page Public Program newspaper, detailing the SAM events and exhibitions to be held from July to December this year. SAM’s Visual Arts Educator, Rhonda Chrisanthou said, “The program highlights experimentation across a broad range of media, from drawing, to printmaking and ceramics, it also caters to all age groups and interests. “Whether it’s a short workshop or extended program, this is a wonderful opportunity to get involved and continue to develop your creativity.” A highlight of this six-monthly program is SAM’s July school holiday program, which includes some great all-weather activities for the kids, as well as the beginning of an eight-week pottery class with Kaye Poulton starting on Thursday, July 16. SHEPPARTON Marketplace is offering two fun-filled weeks of free activities and craft sessions to entertain the ‘kids’ these school holidays. There will be sporting activities with GV Playball in the first week, along with bracelet making activities with GV Party Planners. In the second week, the ‘kids’ can look forward to getting creative with winter craft activities; snow making and snowflake or snowman creation with Enchanted Rainbow. The free school holiday activities will run from Monday June 29, to Saturday July 11, from 11am – 2pm. Jungle Jim’s Pop-Up Playground has also just arrived at the Marketplace, the free play area is currently located just in front of Big W and will offer free fun play throughout the entire school holidays, until Sunday 12th July. IF you’re looking for fun, free activities to keep the ‘kids’ amused these school holidays; make sure you check out Greater Shepparton City Council and Shepparton Show Me’s CBD Fun program. Council is once again offering free school holiday entertainment over the coming school holiday period, with a program of fun activities perfect for primary school aged children, to be held in the Maude Street Mall. Entertainment is set to include a pirate ship jumping castle, kite making, themed slides and giant games. These school holidays the CBD Fun program includes a colouring competition for primary school ‘kids’. There has already been more than 200 entries received and all artwork will be
on display throughout the holidays at various businesses throughout the CBD. Competition winners will be notified and announced on Facebook before being awarded prizes including Village Cinema ‘kids’ pack vouchers, Aquamoves family swim passes and Star Bowl vouchers. Once announced the winners will also have their artwork displayed at the Visitor Information Centre in Nixon Street. CBD Fun is a council managed, free, school holiday program run three times a year; during the Easter, mid-year and spring school holidays in the Maude Street Mall and offers hands-on programs, entertainment and activities for children.
