NEW LOOK STORE UNVEILED… Pictured from left, Coles Shepparton Produce Manager, Adam Williamson and Store Manager, Joe Tedesco. Photo: Kelly Lucas.

Coles offers bigger, better range at new-look Shepparton store

COLES will offer Shepparton residents a bigger and better range when it officially opens its newlook supermarket at 9am on Wednesday, June 25. More than 130 Coles team members will work across the Shepparton store, following the appointment of an extra 20 new team members. Coles Shepparton Store Manager, Joe Tedesco said he was looking forward to welcoming locals into the updated store, which will introduce more than 600 new product lines across the store. “I am very confident that shoppers will enjoy our beautiful, reinvigorated store and will be very happy with the fantastic extended range of products on offer,” he said. “We think that locals will really embrace the various new and exotic food lines on offer. “We are also looking forward to offering great local fresh produce from long-standing producers in the region like Geoffrey Thompson Fruit Packing and Rocky Varapodio from Ardmona. All our Coles Brand tinned peaches, pears and apricots will also continue to be sourced from SPC.” Opening as Coles celebrates its 100th year as an Australian-owned company, the Shepparton store has undergone a major refresh, with customers set to notice the larger-scale fruit and vegetable selection in particular, as well as the change in aisle direction. The all-encompassing fresh produce section is to be displayed on ice, maintaining freshness for longer across a wide variety of fruit and vegetables products. The existing ‘Scoop and Weigh’ cabinet will remain, filled with a huge selection of nuts and dried fruit mixes just perfect for those lunchbox and work-day snacks. A gourmet delicatessen, complete with olive bar and fresh cheese selection, will provide shoppers with a range of new products to sample. Customers can also select from a wide range of pre-packaged deli meats, dips and antipasto products from the ‘deli-on-the-go’ cabinet. For those interested in a fresh juicy steak for dinner or a weekend barbeque, Meat Manager Peter Thomson and his team of in-store butchers now offer perfectly sliced beef on demand. Shoppers can also still find great affordable fashion pieces in-store, with the Coles MIX Apparel range transitioned to a more permanent location within the store. Coles Shepparton is located on the corner of Maude and Vaughan Streets, Shepparton and is open from 7am to 11pm, 7 days per week.

‘The Good The Bad And The Ethnic’ HOME GROWN ETHNIC COMEDY… Pictured, one of the stars of the upcoming show, ‘The Good The Bad And The Ethnic’, Joe Avati will perform with his peers in this side splittingly funny new show. Photo: Supplied

WITH an all-star line-up of some of the best home-grown ethnic comedy superstars, the brand new show, ‘The Good The Bad And The Ethnic’ promises to have audiences in stitches. From the producers who brought you the sell-out ‘IL DAGO’ and ‘Comicus Erectus’ tours, ‘The Good The Bad And The Ethnic’ is the next instalment of politically incorrect humour. Featuring a bumper-line up of the finest ethnic comedians including one of Australia’s top comedy exports Joe Avati, fresh from his sell-out Canadian tour; Turkish Australian comedy sensation Tahir, better known to most as ‘Habib’ of Fat Pizza fame; Australian Greek comedy sensation and best known as Memo from Acropolis Now, George Kapiniaris; and the talented Rob Shehadie, better known as ‘Rocky’ from Fat Pizza and Housos. Popular performer, Joe Avati said, “We have always had a loyal following from regional centres like Shepparton and we understand that not everyone can make it to the big cities to see the shows and we don’t want our fans to miss out so where possible, we bring the shows to the fans. “I am looking forward to returning to Shepparton with a brand new show. This is a show that our fans have never seen before so its exciting for us to showcase the changes and transition that we have made since the last time we were in Shepparton. “The show consists of an equal portion of live stand up, sketches, songs and video items. It’s fast paced and edgy. The show is clean and family friendly. The other comics I work with are amazing. I have learnt so much from them because of their diversity, courage on stage and talent. “This brand of humour appeals to people on a mass scale. Audiences can totally relate to our humour. We talk about the things that everyone thinks about but doesn’t have the guts to say - we don’t offend any particular person along the way - we offend everyone equally.” The Good The Bad and The Ethnic will be appearing at the GV Hotel on June 29 commencing at 7pm. For ticket information, contact Josie Pellegrino on 0407 850 180.
