New $11M cancer centre to be open by Christmas IT H AS been something desperately required in our region for a long time, but Shepparton is finally getting a world-class, state-of-the-art $11M radiation therapy treatment facility, and it is set to be open by Christmas this year. The new centre, being delivered by GenesisCare, will create up to 20 jobs within the community and will support lo c a l suppl ier s where ver p o s sible throughout the build. $50M specialty nutritional plant now operational in Shepparton By David Lee AFTER 12 months under construction, a $50M specialty nutritional ingredients plant is now operational at the Freedom Foods Group Shepparton plant.
The new line received all regulatory approvals recently for operations of the new plant, which will be taking excess proteins from the production of the plant’s UHT line and using it to create specialty nutritional ingredients. Continued on page 18
