$26M in funding a big step forward for cancer treatment THERE has been a big step forward in cancer treatment in the region following the announcement that the Australian Government would be providing $26M toward an Integrated Cancer Centre at GV Health’s Graham Street campus. The funding will be used to build a new state-of-the-art centre allowing GV Health to expand the current cancer services it provides while introducing new programs and models of care for people in the region with cancer. Students’ heart-warming return an inspiration to others By David Lee IT WAS quite heart-warming sitting down with five former students of the Shepparton English Language Centre (SELC) recently. Each shared their stories of arrival in Australia and Shepparton and then spoke about why they individually decided to take up opportunities
at the centre in order to help and inspire other new arrivals. Each has completed a Certificate III Traineeship in Education Support and now work at the centre as multicultural education aids providing assistance for parents, students teachers and each also acts as an interpreter.
