Big move to put our town on the map ENGINES are revving up in preparation for the construction for Shepparton’s new Museum of Vehicle Evolution (MOVE) following approval from Greater Shepparton City Council to provide $1.374 million of financial support for the project. The $6.25 million museum will expand on the current Shepparton Motor Museum footprint with an extra 10,000 square metres of exhibition space to showcase curated displays of transport-related vehicles and memorabilia, providing a chance to boast about the important local history of truck transport in the food bowl plus much more. A giant native fish hatchery so big it can be seen from space will provide a boost for local Indigenous employment, as well as providing an enormous incentive for the fishing industry and environment. The new fish hatchery is a flagship commitment of the Labor Government’s ‘Target One Million’ plan to get more people fishing,
more frequently, and will grow millions of native fish annually to boost wild stocks for recreational fishers in Victorian rivers and lakes. Up to six Indigenous positions will represent half the hatchery’s workforce, providing local opportunities for people keen on a career growing Murray cod (Burnanga), golden perch, silver perch and freshwater catfish.
