Where play is the whole point

No need to book and nothing to pay – just come ready to play! Playgroup is the place for Mooroopna under-5s to have fun and for mums, dads, grandparents and carers to have a cuppa and connect with other parents.

Playgroup facilitator Syeda says the morning sessions offer a place for children and adults alike to make friends. “We make everyone welcome.”

Mooroopna Primary School playgroup runs on Mondays from 9.15am to 10.45am, with another playgroup running from Mooroopna Park Primary on a Friday morning. Both playgroups are part of Council’s supported playgroup initiative.

Mooroopna Primary is also the venue for a Just 4 Bubs playgroup, for babies under 12 months. And for something a little different, the Parent-Child Mother Goose program runs on Thursdays to introduce children to the joy of rhymes, songs and stories.

Families can also tap into the many family support services , including Maternal and Child Health, at the adjoining Mooroopna Children and Families Centre – where older children can be introduced to kindergarten.

The Mooroopna Children and Families Centre was built by the Education Department as part of the Shepparton Education Plan. Run in partnership with Greater Shepparton City Council and the Colman Education Foundation’s “Our Place”, it is the only integrated school and early years setting in the Goulburn Valley.
