THE Greater Shepparton City Council is undertaking major repair works to a section of riverbank along the Goulburn River, near the Aquamoves car park. The repairs are necessary due to significant damage and erosion caused by the October 2022 floods. The primary aim of the project is to secure the riverbank and ensure the safety of road and car park users.

Gary Randhawa, the Director of Infrastructure at the Council, emphasised the proactive approach being taken to safeguard the infrastructure while respecting the natural surroundings. The Engineering Services team is finalising the design for the Tom Collins Drive Bank Stabilisation, which includes two sections of rip rap rock bank stabilisations and the renewal of an existing rip rap section next to the drainage pump station.
