Advocates for Children to Celebrate #GivingTuesday with Rally and Text2Give Program CARTERSVILLE, Ga.- Nov. 21, 2016: In the spirit of the season, Advocates for Children will once again join the #GivingTuesday celebration on Nov. 29, inspiring meaningful giving to advance its mission of the prevention and treatment of child abuse in all its forms. Alongside a giving rally at Friendship Plaza, Advocates for Children is working to make giving even easier with the introduction of a give by text function. Advocates for Children recently launched a new tool to encourage giving from any location. The new Text2Give platform allows donors to give using their cell phones. The mobile channel offers people an easy and secure way to give. Those wanting to use this function should text ADVOCHILD to 243725. Donations can then be made with a credit or debit card through a secure, user-friendly mobile giving link that is provided. Text2Give, online, and in person donations will be options for those who drop by the giving rally on Tuesday, Nov. 29 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Staff and volunteers will be on hand at Friendship Plaza in Cartersville next to the depot to accept donations and hand out goodies, including a limited number of Chick-fil-A menu item coupons for those donating $10 or more. “This is a wonderful opportunity to work hand in hand with the community to raise both awareness and support,” said Advocates for Children President and CEO Karen White. “Not only will Friendship Plaza be local rally point for people to come together to give, it is our chance to thank supporters.” Coinciding with Thanksgiving and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday was designed to inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the nonprofits and causes they support, and help create a better world. This is not the first year that Advocates for Children has participated in the annual event that always occurs the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Last year the organization, which helps children and families in Northwest Georgia, raised more than $31,000 in its #GivingTuesday efforts.
