Treasures of Argentina & Chilewas designed with the intent to provide a journey combining Andean crossing with a cruise among the Fjords in the Patagonia Region, ending up in the most southern city of the Americas, close to Cape Horn.

“Casa Rosada” (Pink House) before going to the chic quarter of Recoleta, with its sidewalk cafes. Nearby is its famous cemetery, a necropolis of elaborate mausoleums, including that of Eva Peron. Return to the hotel. For tonight we will suggest a special treat in a Tango House. Here you will enjoy superb cuisine amid this exquisitely decorated ambience, recreating the sophistication of old Buenos Aires. Enjoy dinner sampling the famous Argentine beef followed by a show where we are mesmerized by sensual national dance… The Tango (B,L)

►Day 1 Saturday: Arrive Buenos Aires (Argentina) Meeting services upon your arrival to Buenos Aires and transfer to your hotel. Balance of day free to relax and get familiar with your surroundings. ►Day 2 Sun: Buenos Aires (Argentina)

►Day 3 Monday: Buenos Aires (Argentina) At leisure. Suggestion: FD Fiesta Gaucha at estancia Santa Susana By the end of the last century, Mr. Francisco Kelly, an Argentine citizen of Irish descendants named his land Santa Susana as homage to his wife, Susana Caffrey. The ranch is located in the district of Campana, Buenos Aires province, and near the town of Los Cardales. It actually occupies an area of 1200 hectares (2965 acres) mainly dedicated to agricultural activities, and, since around 10 years ago, it has also been exploits as a tourism resort, either at national or at international levels. Spend a wonderful day in the immense Pampas, a vast region of fertile flan land especially suitable for agriculture and cattle breeding, the country’s economical core business. We will arrive at the estancia, a typical Argentine ranch, where we will enjoy all it attractions: tasting the delicious “empanadas”, listening to

Built in the 19th century, an era of plenty for the wealthy gaucho -land barons of Argentina- Buenos Aires is a city of contrasts offering a blend of old world charm and modern conveniences that rival the architecture and sophistication of Paris. Today is Sunday so we begin our tour of the city with a stop at San Telmo neighborhood, home to the famous San Telmo’s Antique Market, the antique flea market (which takes place only on Sundays) and one of the favorite pastimes for Porteños, as the residents of the city are called, and tourists alike. Here you will experience the bohemian side of the city with its mimes, impersonators, musicians and the ubiquitous tango dancers offering free lessons to the least inhibited passersby. Afterwards, we will visit the famous Café Tortoni, the oldest Café house in Argentina and home to the artistic and intellectual Buenos Aires life since 1858. The city tour will continue along the 9th of July Avenue, the widest in the world, with stops at the Plaza de Mayo where we view the

and Bariloche city. We make our way back passing the post-card setting of Llao-Llao peninsula and Puerto Pañuelo with stops for taking a picture before returning to our hotel for overnight. (B)

folklore music and horseback riding. At lunch time we will enjoy the typical Argentinean barbecue, the “asado”, where cow ribs are placed on an iron grid and grilled on wood embers. We will get to know some of gaucho traditions through some of their games such as “carrera de sortija” (ring race) and “carrera de cuadreras” (horse races) in which they show their skills on horseback. We will afterwards try the traditional “mate”.

►Day 6 Thursday: Bariloche (Argentina) / Puerto Varas (Chile) Depart for the first part of the Lake Crossing Journey, viewing this incredible alpine scenery as you make your way to the Argentine border. Travel over the crystalline blue waters of Lake Nahuel Huapi past Victoria Island. Continue by launch along Lake Frias to the Argentine/Chilean border for an afternoon arrival in Peulla, continue crossing the lake district by launch from Peulla to Petrohue, then by bus along the lakeshore to Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas where you transfer to your hotel. ►Day 4 Monday: Buenos Aires / Bariloche (Argentina) Transfer to the airport for the flight to the year-round resort city of Bariloche, often dubbed the “Switzerland of South America”. Surrounded by deep blue lakes and towering mountains, the area is ideal for climbing, boating, exploring, dining and just full relaxing making it an incomparable vacation destination. Arrive to Bariloche and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon is free to shop for local cashmere sweaters or the famous Bariloche chocolates. (B)

►Day 7 Thursday: Pto. Varas (Chile)/ Pto. Montt (Chile)/ Punta Arenas (Chile)/ Cruise Strait of Magellan (Chile-Argentina) Transfer to the airport. Meeting upon arrival in Punta Arenas and board the Mare Australis, your home for the next 4 days and begin sailing south through the fabled Strait of Magellan towards Tierra del Fuego, Fire Island and Patagonia. ►Day 5 Wednesday: Bariloche (Argentina) Today we will go on a circuit excursion from Bariloche to the Southwest skirting Lake Nahuel Huapi, driving along winding paved road. Crossing the residential district we make our way to Playa Bonita located near Huemul Island. Then, we continue along a scenic landscape to visit Campanario Mountain and its chair-lift (optional) that will take us to the summit, at an altitude of about 3,465 feet from where breathtaking views of Nahuel Huapi and Moreno lakes, St Peter peninsula, Llao-Llao hotel, Victoria Island as well as Otto, Lopez and Cathedral mountains

►Day 8 Cruise Brookes Glacier and Tucker Islet During the cruise, there are daily onshore visits lasting about two hours. These tours are led by the Mare Australis naturalists are walks through the native forest and visits to glaciers accompanied by naturist chat about the flora and fauna you will be seeing. A whisky with millenary ice (from a glacier) or a cup of

►Day 11 Cruise Pto. Williams – Ushuaia – Buenos Aires

hot chocolate will be served on the beach before returning to the ship. This morning navigation through Almirantazgo Cove up to Marinelli Glacier. We will board zodiacs for an unforgettable excursion to take a walk to see beaver dams and the Magellan Forest. You will also see a sea lion colony up close. Continue to the Brookes Glacier, while enjoying vintage whiskey chilled with ice from the 20,000-year old Millennia Glacier. Then we visit a small Magellanic penguin colony at Tucker Islet, also spotting dolphins swimming in these tranquil waters. Tonight, enjoy a recap of today’s adventures followed by dinner. (B,L,D)

Leave Puerto Williams, slowly sailing across the Beagle Channel to reach Ushuaia (Argentina), the southernmost city in the Americas . Transfer to the airport

►Day 9 Cruise Serrano Glaciar (Chile) This morning we navigate to Agostini Bay, where we will disembark for a breathtaking view of Serrano Glacier, which is one of the most spectacular glaciers in the channels of Tierra del Fuego . We continue sailing through the Magdalena Channel until we reach Brenock Channel. Lunch, social hour and a recap of the day’s activities followed by dinner. (B,L,D) ►Day 10 Cruise Puerto Williams (Chile) After sailing through Desolate Bay and the Whaling and O’Brien Channels, we will enter the northeast branch of the Beagle Channel, disembarking at Yendegaia Bay , first estancia in Tierra del Fuego . Get your cameras and binoculars ready for the first sights of the majestic “Avenue of the Glaciers”. We then set sail for Puerto Williams, capital of the Chilean Antarctica Region. Tonight, the Captain invites you for a Mid-cruise dinner, saying farewell to passengers disembarking in Ushuaia. (B,L,D) 4
