Rock the Rim

Rock the Rim 2022 Saturday, October 29 • 6pm • Doors Open at 5pm • Sanford Pentagon www.trevorslegacyfoundation.org

Saturday, October 29th you’re going to want to make your way to the Sanford Pentagon for Rock the Rim 2022! Trevor’s Legacy Foundation has joined forces, with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, to bring you an evening you won’t forget.

On August 29, 2015, Roxanne Vogelgesang lost her 17 year old son, Trevor, in a head-on collision due to a drunk driver. Shortly thereafter, she created Trevor’s Legacy Foundation, with the mission of carrying on her son’s compassionate heart, and to bring awareness to the dangers of drinking and driving. Vogelgesang states “Trevor had three passions in life that stood out above all others; children, sports (mainly basketball) and his mom. It is my mission, to combine the three and carry on his legacy”.

Trevor’s Legacy Foundation is a 501c3, non-profit, organization founded in South Dakota, in 2016. Trevor’s foundation assists children and their families who have incurred substantial medical expenses due to serious illness or accident. Each year TLF hosts its annual Rock the Rim benefit, organized to raise funds for these families.

Funds raised ensure recipient children get the medical care they need, be it; travel & lodging to and from treatment, occupational therapy, home accessibility improvements, prescription costs or any other related expenses insurance may not cover. Recipients also gain substantial emotional support, which is vital, during their new uncertain journey.

Rock the Rim is a jam packed, high flying, edge of your seat, Skyforce basketball game where fans enjoy specialty acts during each break. Many of these acts are from the professional sports world, including; several NBA Mascots and Dunk Teams, as well as, former contestants of ‘America’s Got Talent’, showcasing their amazing talent, leaving the crowd stunned. TLF is also proud of alumni; former ‘Nashville Star’ contestant, Charley Jenkins, and “The #1 Most Booked Halftime Act in College Basketball 2017-2019, TYLERS AMAZING BALANCING ACT”!

Fans can also find one-of-a-kind NBA player-autographed (and/or team) memorabilia on the silent auction, as well as, local hand crafted goods and services.

Rock the Rim is much more than an exciting evening out for the entire family. It is a time to come together, show support, and to help children, and their families, when they need it most. When asked her hopes for the evening, Vogelgesang stated “Trevor’s Legacy Foundation is passionate about creating a positive change for others. And Rock the Rim is about manifesting hope. That is my main goal for the evening; to bring HOPE to a world which could really use some hope right now. I aim to inspire others to strive for understanding, show kindness, and change lives. It only takes one act of kindness to begin a movement. After all our world has gone through in the recent years, I would like to be the match which reignites that.”
