THE CLIENT GUIDE

WELCOME

A NOTE FROM YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER What have you done for yourself lately? A glamour photo shoot isn't just taking pictures, it's an experience. I will never forget the first time someone told me that she has never felt more beautiful than she did during her photoshoot with me. I believe that every woman should have photos that represent her best self. Photos we feel proud of that will become family heirlooms, that we can use for social media and business, to give to our partner, and to just feel wonderful about. This is one of the most inspiring and empowering experiences you will have as a woman: taking time, just for you, to perfectly capture your beauty in the form of fine art portraiture. I will work closely with you to emphasize and celebrate your uniqueness, and I can't wait to show you how incredible you are. Every woman has a captivating beauty, inside and out. Whether you are sun-kissed with freckles, are a bit smaller or larger than you want to be, or have a few areas you feel self-conscious about, it doesn’t matter. Drawing out the beauty in each and every one of my clients is one of my greatest pleasures. Welcome to the beginning of your luxury portrait session.

W H AT I D O

DOS

DON’TS

Get a good night’s rest. This is so important. No amount of makeup of retouching can eliminate the exhasution present in your eyes or spirit.

No negative self-talk once on set. No explanation needed here.

Moisturize. Makeup goes on smoother and skin looks more radiant when it is hydrated. You should also moisturize your entire body prior to your shoot. Bring multiple wardrobe options. Make sure to bring plenty of figure-flattering outfit options. Many times an outfit that we think will work doesn’t. Whethere it doesn’t fit, isn’t flattering, clashes too much with my backdrops, or just doesn’t work with the rest of the styling, we need to have options. I usually suggest bringing 7-8 outfits and will discuss each look with my clients ahead of time. Get a manicure and pedicure. This is a very simple, but often overlooked step in preparing for a photoshoot. Nude-colored nails and French manicures look great but I love the look of vampy, dark nails (think Chanel Vamp or Formula X Ignite). They pair well with all outfits and backdrops. Arrive on time. Arriving late starts the session off on a bad foot because everyone is rushed and stressed out. It also cuts into hair and makeup, wardrobe and shooting time. Arriving early is the best way to ensure a relaxed vibe during your session. Show up to have fun! The number one goal for me is that my clients have a great time feeling pampered, glamorous and feminine. Leave the rest to me when you’re on set. Making you look gorgeous and taking beautiful, artistic photos of you is my job, so my clients should focus on having a good time and perform the poses I direct wihtout the burden and worry of “trying to look good.”

Forgetting the photo credit. This is more about after the shoot, when you have downloaded your images and would like to share them on social media. Always credit your photographer and anyone else that worked on your shoot (my assistant or second shooter, makeup artist and hairstylist, etc.). “You can fix that in Photoshop, can’t you?” Yes, but I’d rather now. Retouching takes up A LOT OF TIME and could easily be prevented. ;et’s all work together to get the shot right the first time.

PEOPLE WILL STARE. MAKE IT WORTH THEIR WHILE.

WEAR

I recommend bringing at least 8 different looks: an all black dress, an all white or pale neutral outfit (white, cream, dusty pink, peach, beige), and an outfit with color (jewel tones, such as emerald green and ruby red, work best). Formal dresses and gowns are very flattering to the female figure and photograph beautifully. Make sure to bring a variety of underpinnings: nude strapless or adhesive bras, seamless panties and/or Spanx. Bring something that sits well and makes you feel beautiful and sexy. Avoid patterns and baggy styles (this includes dolman sleeves never a good look). Strapless and backless styles work best but if you feel more comfortable with your shoulders and arms covered, make sure your sleeves are fitted. Think glamour when it comes to fabric choices: sheer, silk, tulle, leather, feathers, satin, silk, and chiffon. The best outfits will be form-fitting and hug your body well. Also bring plenty of accessories -- jewelry, hair pieces, extensions, hats, fascinators, masks, headbands, wigs, floral crowns -- the bolder, the better! One of the best resources for dresses and gowns is Rent the Runway. Many of my clients have rented gorgeous designer outfits from there at a mere fraction of the retail cost. If your clothing is susceptible to wrinkles, please bring it on a hanger.

EXPECT

CONSULT A wardrobe consultation is included when designing your session and can be done in person, over the phone or by email. I will help you select 7-8 outfits that will photograph the best. STYLING Your makeup and hair will be professionally done once you arrive at your session. This will take about 60-90 minutes. After hair and makeup, my team will help you style your outfit. You can also check out our photoshoot closet, which is filled with dresses, accessories and jewelry. SHOOT You and I will shoot for about 3 hours and go through as many outfit changes and looks as you like. This is the fun part! I will turn on some music and direct you through your entire shoot to make sure you look your absolute best. All of the posing and lighting is meant to flatter. I will also have refreshments on hand in case you need to take a quick break.

CELEBRATE YOURSELF: Why Book A Luxury Portrait Session My style of portraits is very modern and inspired by cinema and fashion editorials. Every women deserves to have this unique experience. You will look amazing, which will make you feel amazing. The best part of my job is making women see themselves as the beautiful people they are. Too many women tell me they want to wait until they lose a few pounds or tighten their tummies. My response is always the same...do it now. A beauty + photography session will make you feel amazing, both inside and out, because when you see how you look in the photographs, you will be in awe. “Yes, that is really you.” I always find myself saying that to clients during their photo sessions. My sessions empower you because feeling good creates a newfound sense of confidence. A good portrait photographer knows how to bring out your inner beauty all within a few clicks. To remember a certain time in your life. This has to be my favorite reason. A photoshoot is the perfect opportunity to celebrate and honor a certain time in your life. Many of my clients are celebrating a birthday, a recent weight loss, being newly single, a job promotion, or just want to celebrate their womanhood. There is nothing more special than capturing a moment in time. Treat yourself. You get to be pampered! Your hair and makeup will be done by a professional. All of your looks will be styled by my all-female team. It makes the experience that much more enjoyable because it takes the stress out of having to prepare your look and it gives you the chance to unwind before you step in front of the camera. This is when my clients and I can bond and get to know each other. I get to hear amazing stories and it helps me bring out their inner supermodel. And don’t forget it’s an excuse to go shopping! Whether you are shopping in your own closet or at your favorite boutiques, picking out the perfect pieces and accessories is half the fun!

BEFORE/AFTER

BEFORE/AFTER

A TESTIMONIAL FROM JENNIFER “I had the incredible experience of a portrait session with Eliza and she made me look and feel like a diva. In her welcoming and down-to-earth way, she made me feel right at home upon my arrival and throughout the session. It felt like I was hanging out with a girlfriend - trying on clothes, doing makeup, and taking pictures. Who knew that clothing styling, makeup, and photos could be so much fun?! I am not a model and do not know how to pose for photos. Eliza addressed that by not just telling me what she wanted me to do for each photo, but showing me. She would not just tell me to tilt my head a certain way, she would show me and have me mirror the movement back at her. I have to admit that I was a bit weary when she suggested I lay on my stomach on the floor but...the photos with that pose ended up being my favorite photos. All I had to do was listen to what Eliza said and the photos spoke for themselves. Talent, professionalism, patience, and perfection - those are the words that come to mind when I think of Eliza and and the work she does. What a gift it was to be spoiled by this phenomenal woman whose talents shine through the glamour portrait session and the beautiful photos that are produced! I was thrilled with how the photos turned out. As tired and stressed out as I can get as a 40-year-old, full-time-working professional, wife, and mother of 3, I can still say that I look pretty damn good...okay, stunning! I highly recommend this experience to any woman!
