Valentine’s Day Plans For The Lonely We all dread this day, because we always end up dateless, and trying to avoid happy couples, that make us want to puke so much. Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be so lonely, there’s a couple things you can do to make it more tolerable!
Friendship Flowers Always keep it funny on Valentine’s Day, you and a friend can exchange flowers to each other, it would be even more exciiting if you exchange at school, where everyone will ask you who is it from? You can keep it mysterious by saying, “A secret admirer”.

Mack
Wilds
Tells you what owns his heart “Own It!” 2013 was the best year for Mack Wilds, formally Tristan Wilds. He released one of the best albums of the year and was even nominated for a Grammy, at the age of twenty-four you can say he has accomplished a lot, which included being casted as Jay-Zs nephew in one of his music videos. We all watched him grow up on the “The Wire” and “90210”, and we all fell in love with his dimpled smile, that makes you just swoon. I recently got the chance to interview him, and it was the best experience in my life. I got to know the actor and musician personally, instead of on TV screens, and movie screens. He was so humble and so endearing, that I nearly fainted when I saw him, I couldn’t believe that I was meeting someone I have followed for so many years. It was so surreal, and it made me so happy. ! Congrats!

Mack Wilds A:Where are you from? Most people believe you are from Baltimore
Mack:New York City, Staten Island to be exact A:How did you get the role for the wire?
Mack: I auditioned for it, they were holding auditions, it was damn near like world wide, i originally auditioned for the role of randy, they thought I was cool, but they thought I was too big of a kid to be bullied so they asked me to audition for Micheal, and the rest is history A:Did you like being on the wire? Would you say it’s your favorite role?
Mack:It’s one of them! Definitely one of my favorite roles, it was a pivotal part of my career, it helped me grow, and sparked everything you guys see today.
A: Do you just want to make music for the ears?
Mack:We are definitely in the business of selling records, I defiantly want to sell records, I definitely want platinum plaques, I definitely want all that, but for this album I think I just want people to more so get an idea of who I am, and what I am. Instead of trying to get a number one hit, I wanted to really show case who I am and then we will get into later.
A:How long did the album take to make?
Mack:We finished the album in a month. A:How come you didn’t take the road of using 2chainz or Future on a hook? How come you didn’t get a club banger? Mack: You know cause that’s not necessary the music that comes out of me, it would be too easy to do that, so to really establish myself as artist, cause I don’t want to just be here to do a quick run or s few single, I want to be here for the long haul for years and years on end. Be able to do music as long as I want to or whenever I want to, so the only way to do that, is to keep it real, and to be as real
A:Would you want to work with 2chainz or Future in the Future? Mack:(laughs) You know maybe, if the time comes where there is a song that kind of fits me, if one of their songs fits me, if it makes sense, I don’t do things just to do it has to make sense in the whole grand scheme of things.

What do you see in the future with your music?
Mack: Music grows, and it’s so many different genres and facades, and there’s so many different ways you can mix things that people haven’t touch or have touched, or haven’t touched in a while, but I definitely just want to grow more as an artist, develop my skills as a singer as an artist as an rapper, and one day be considered one of the best. I don’t have to be number one, I just want to be in your conversations.
Who is the pinncle of sucess for you? Mack: Probably like a Lauryn Hill, or a Kanye or Jay-z. You know people who still seem like they have so much more to do. Even after they done so much, there’s so much more they can do. Doesn’t seem like their creativity can stop. How was it like working with Jay-z in the “Roc Boys” video?
Mack: Jay asked me to be in the video, from there he took me under his wing like a family member, like one of his nephews, and since there it’s just been great. He’s a dope guy to look up to, and an amazing mind in this business.
Who is your favorite new rappers? Mack: Kendrick, he’s everyone’s favorite right now. He’s bringing hip hop to a place where it needs to be, so I appreciate that 100%
Are you a fan of J.cole?
Mack: Yes absolutely, Drake of course, Joey Badass, Asap Rocky, Action Bronson. The list goes on, and on and on.
Do you want to act all your life or create music?
Mack: II want to just create bigger than acting, bigger than music, I just want to be able to create for the rest of my life,
How did you feel when 90210 ended?
It was a bittersweet feeling, on one end you are leaving these people that you seen everyday for five years, on the other hand now you have the freedom to spread out and do a lot more creativity. Why did you change your name? Mack: It’s a personal name, Mack is actually my middle name. I was actually more used to people calling me Mack than Tristan. I was actually called Tristan when I got in trouble. It was a second chance, It’s like working from a clean sheet. Of all the characters you have played who do you think you resemble the most?
Mack: Each one has a different part of me, inside the character, either it’s some of Micheal’s street smarts, and the wittiness that Dixon has, I don’t know, It would probably be Micheal because I seen that lifestyle a lot in my life. Do you just want to make music for the ears?
Mack:We are definatly in the business of selling records, I defiantly want to sell records, I defintly want platinum plaques, I defintly want all that, but for this album I think I just want people to more so get an idea of who I am, and what I am,and where I’m from. Instead of trying to get a number one hit, I wanted to really show case who I am and then we will get into later. A:How did you go from Micheal from the wire to Dixon on 90210?
Mack: Easily, they just represent different parts of my life, with the wire I grew up in a neighborhood like that, it wasn’t necessary the best neighborhood, and the hardships that Micheal went through, and the other kids are things I seen growing up or I went through myself. As on 90210 I went to a predominantly white school, I was going through the same thing Dixon was going through at the time, i moved to California from New York, I was kind of trying to fit in and learn about what Los Angeles really had and what it could bring me at the same time.

Daniela has always enjoyed music ever since she was little. She dreams of one day being a famous singer like Katy Perry, and as far as I see, she’s getting closer and closer each day!
Music has become a part of my life, not only that but I feel that as if its always there during good or bad throughout the years. I have been writing music and achieving my goal to go to the next level. I’ve always dreamed of being a singer. Yes, its a huge dream and also a great opportunity, but also takes a lot of work put into it. For almost 4 years I’ve been playing piano. The best time I find playing is when i feel either really sad or happy about something, words just pop out of my head and react poems that transforms into music. Its a start. This year im working hard by learning new songs on the piano and hopefully soon putting up song covers on youtube next year. When I feel that I’m probably not good enough or I need more work put into it ,I never give up because seeing celebrities and how they first started .They weren’t all perfect .Trying hard and never giving up helped their dreams come true. So what I will do is keep playing and never lose faith, because I believe that I was born for a reason .I was born to be a singer. One of my favorite parts of playing is that every note has a unique sound to it . This is how I compose music every note is like a different word a different sound . Its complicated but like I said its not easy. Its really fun once you learn the secrets behind music like singing is an instrument you don’t need to really be able to play a specific instrument to be able to compose ,your vocal chords is a huge part of the beginning. One of my favorite song is Roar by Katy Perry . This song is about having the courage to face others or anything your trying to face. Katy Perry is one of my favorite singers because she started out singing at church then putting up videos on you-tube. This wonderful singer really gave me strength to keep going because I am doing the same thing as she use to do. I play piano at church and sing all time. Shes a great example to many people out there with hidden talents .Now its time to show my talent to everyone.

Who Are You?
I’m a college student in the phase of transitioning to a four year school. I LOVE Pop Culture, it IS my culture. It’s wide ranged and reaches out to millions of people. I also love people just hearing their stories and experiences and how I could relate to them. I’m looking to start a career that mixes both my love for culture and my love for people and I think I found that in what I’m studying, Mass Communications, specifically Event Coordinating.
When Did You Know You Were Gay? I think I knew I was gay the second I realized I knew every word to Destiny’s Child Writings On The Wall album [laughs]. I hung out with a lot of girls and found myself relating more to them than guys at my age. I was never overly sensitive, I just had a fabulous attitude that followed me wherever I went.
Did Your Family Know?
My immediate family sort of had a clue but were afraid to act on their suspicions. Growing up in a Christian home, it wasn’t the easiest expressing my true self around my family. So I consoled in my friends who accepted me from the start. I spent more time with my friends and their families than my own. My mom nearly had a mental breakdown when I finally accepted my identity and shared with her I was gay, when I was 16.
How did your mom react?
To this day she only “sees past it” and loves me for the son I am to her, not for who I really am. We would go back and forth on what the Bible says about homosexuality, but the God that I came to know on a personal level had no issue with sexual preference. To this day, it is high tension in my household. I am no longer in that “wanting acceptance phase” from my family, as my education and career interest are taking me out of the house more and more.
Are you in a relationship? I have a boyfriend whose family loves me wholeheartedly and I now have the safe haven I yearned for since I was a teenager. I also have some amazing friends, both gay and straight who haven’t ever treated me any differently to this day. From my coming out experience, I want to let anyone know who I might be going through the same thing that there IS such thing as faith. By living your life with a positive attitude, you can end up exactly where you’re suppose to be.
What do you like about Pop Culture? It’s the music, the fashion, the personalities, it’s what intrigues us as humans! Not everyone is interested in mainstream Pop culture but there is a specific culture people are drawn too. For me it’s mainstream because it garners the most attention.
