As I write this, Peterborough United sit proudly at the top of the Sky Bet League One table, four points clear after a perfect February that saw Darren Ferguson mastermind six straight wins and all manner of wins as well, coming from behind, beating a rival and making a mammoth journey down to Devon and coming back with a comprehensive victory.

Darren deserves tremendous credit. His win ratio in the 100 games in his third spell in charge has been excellent, the best of all his spells and he has done it in arguably one of the most challenging periods any football club can face with games behind closed doors and daily obstacles to overcome due to Covid-19.
Credit also to Jonson Clarke-Harris. When we sold Ivan Toney in the summer to Brentford, I am sure there were lots of people who were questioning why we brought JCH into the club, but he has repaid that faith with 23 goals in all competitions to date with 21 of them in the league.
Jonson scores all kinds of goals. He is a number nine and comes alive in the box, but he also holds the ball up, wins free-kicks and takes the pressure off the backline and is tremendous in the air, just like Ivan was.
We are not getting carried away though. We are at the beginning of March, there is a long way to go yet and a lot of football to be played. Football cliches get trotted out all the time, but it is true, you can only take one game at a time and not lose your focus from the fixture that is in front of you. That is what we are doing.
In our division there have been some notable managerial changes. Joey
Barton was appointed at Bristol Rovers, Ipswich parted company with Paul Lambert despite three successive victories and with the club just outside the play-off picture and Darren Moore decided to leave Doncaster Rovers in the play-off positions to join Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday.
In League Two, our neighbours Cambridge United are doing ever so well, probably against the odds, to be challenging near the top while at the bottom, Grimsby Town are fighting for their lives, but I am sure Paul Hurst will soon move them up the table and away from danger.
In the Premier League, it looks like it is Manchester
City’s title to lose. To win 20 successive games at any level is an incredible achievement and I don’t think Pep gets the credit he deserves. Yes, he has money to spend, but that doesn’t mean the results are easy to come by as a result. I can’t see anybody stopping them, domestically or in Europe.
