Next month (April), Great Scotland Yard Hotel will launch No.1 The Townhouse, a standalone private residence situated just next door to the hotel on London’s Great Scotland Yard. Having undergone a full restoration, the Grade II listed townhouse will be the first of its kind, providing guests the seclusion and discretion of a private residence whilst benefiting from the service of the next door 5-star hotel.

Launching on Monday 19th April 2021, the five storey, Georgian-fronted townhouse will offer guests over 2000 sqft of pure luxury and an exclusive London address of No.1 Great Scotland Yard. The building has been thoughtfully restored to celebrate the hallmark features of this classic British Townhouse whilst reflecting an interior scheme which tastefully balances traditional and modern influences. Moments away from Covent Garden’s upscale shopping district and several of London’s most acclaimed restaurants, No.1 The Townhouse will be the perfect residence for those looking for a discreet, central London abode. welcomed with a complimentary deluxe seasonal hamper from nearby Fortnum & Mason and greeted for in-house check in by the hotel team, who are available around the clock for the duration of their stay. Making themselves at home, guests can opt to relax in the drawing room or basement den with original log burners, oversized sunken sofas, and Bang & Oflusen TVs. In the centre of the lake lies the tiny island of San Giulio, where you arrive to a staircase that leads to the Roman Basilica which houses some impressive art. Visitors are encouraged to walk through the alleys of the island on the ‘way of silence and meditation’. Many scholars and historians come to this island from all over the world to visit the ancient Romanesque Ambo (12th century pulpit). San Giulio is home to the cloistered nuns who inhabit the island for most of the year and who celebrate St Giulio’s day as a festival at the end of January. E-bike tours - Cycle the stunning landscapes, tour the lake and up to the mountains for breathtaking views of the area with tailor made e-bike tours on a Thok e-bike. Walk around the historical village of Orta San Giulio Stroll around the beautiful village of Orta San Giulio. The village is part of the ‘Borghi Più belli d’Italia’ (the Italian circuit of small towns with strong historical and artistic interest). Here you will find the Piazza Motta and the Broletto. The village winds through narrow stone streets that reach the water. You can get to the villa from Casa Fantini either by car (15-minute drive or by a 10-minute boat ride).
