The beauty, hardness, and utility of granite all make it a highly desirable material for countertops in home design. Many factors need to be considered when choosing the correct sealer. One example is stone type. Consider the color of your granite, how thick it is, whether it is granite or marble, the hardness or density of the stone, how porous it is, and how fast it absorbs liquid. Also consider the stone’s finish— what type of finish was applied, was the surface polished, and was resin applied? Don’t forget about the stone’s location—is it in the kitchen, bathroom, dining room, outdoor living space, floor, wall, or foyer? Is the application residential or commercial? And finally, think about the current maintenance. What kind of maintenance has, or will, the stone be subjected to?
