CARING ABOUT OUR STAFF ALOHA & MERRY CHRISTMAS NSW
In This Issue
It was with great pleasure that our NSW staff finally got to get together and celebrate for the end of year Christmas Party at the Port in Darling Harbour, as a way to say ‘thank you’ for all of their hard work. We know that each and every one of you work very hard throughout the year to deliver exceptional support to thousands of clients, their families and carers under the NDIS. You are always ensuring that everything you do reflects all the best things about being part of the Afford community, by embodying The Afford Way.

It was again a fabulous event that had everyone getting into the Christmas vibe and celebrating all the many milestones achieved this year. As one family, one community, we have banded together to become stronger, more resilient and better at adapting to new market changes and we have become a leading disability service provider - almost all of which comes down to you, our staff. We were reminded this year of how great it is to be an Affordian and how we have the best staff in the sector, which is why we were awarded the Voice Project’s Best WorkPlace for 2019. Congratulations to all staff for a fantastic year! Whether you’re on the front line, in the call centre, dealing with logistics, managing finances, or making sure processes and procedures are at their highest level, everyone’s efforts have contributed to a successful year for Afford. We can’t wait to see what 2020 will bring! Merry Christmas!

SOCIAL MEDIA SAVVY
Afford’s social presence is always growing, with our sites uploading weekly to their respective site’s group Facebook pages. Facebook has always been a fantastic tool to showcase clients enjoying our supports each day and sharing precious moments with carers and parents. It is a great way to keep them involved and updated on their loved ones and their fabulous adventures. For our Group Home residents, it is also a great way to show families what a remarkable life our residents have as part of the Afford Lifestyle, and the cool things they get up to during the week and on the weekend. Social media creates a seamless way to share our life and experiences with our loved ones and friends while also providing an opportunity for new people to connect with Afford and follow our journey as we grow and expand. This can potentially create new clients leads as well as job enquiries for both open and supported employment. We also share a lot of our events and activities via video, mostly created by our talented videographer, Joshua Vincent from Jovi Creative. Our videos have always proved to be highly popular, as they are often very emotional and moving, showcasing a real moment in time. This year we even launched a series of videos about our residents and their lifestyles, called The Afford Lifestyle Channel. As an Affordian, it is important that you follow us on social media so you too can keep up with the fun and cool things other sites may be doing, our events, giveaways and more! Ways to stay connected with Afford: • Like us on Facebook – www.facebook.com/afford • Follow us on Instagram - @AffordGram • Follow us on Twitter - @AffordTweets • Follow our YouTube Channel - http://bit.ly/AffordsYoutube • OPT- IN to our weekly electronic newsletter – email ‘OPT- IN’ to marketing@afford.com.au
