The Youth Leadership Program which aims to build and develop confidence, public speaking and creative talents was the first time that the Toastmasters Club has held this event for a group with special needs and it was a great success. The program included developing skills in planning and managing meetings, practice speaking sessions and art and craft. Each participant delivered a speech on their favorite topic at the event in front of an audience including John Robertson MP for Blacktown, Sandra Sweetman President of the Toastmasters Club of Cumberland Forest, Shirley Childs, Past President of the Toastmasters Club of Cumberland Forest, showing off what they have achieved throughout the 8 week program. A huge thankyou goes to John Robertson, MP for Blacktown, Sandra Sweetman and Shirley Childs for all their support and training throughout the program and to the graduating clients for all their hard work and great presentations!

Afford Have A Blast At Camp Toukley Afford clients recently had the opportunity to take a fun-filled holiday to Camp Toukley thanks to a generous donation from Penrith RSL. The trip consisted of 28 clients and 10 staff who all enjoyed forming new friendships and creating new memories as each client learnt the benefits and importance of healthy living and being active, while participating in exciting activities including quad bike riding and surfing. Our clients also enjoyed the chance to learn new bush survival skills such as bush cooking, first aid and how to light a camp fire. We would like to thank Penrith RSL for their generous donation, allowing our clients to experience what was for some, their first ever holiday without their family!
