Lurnea Clients Experience Success
Every Thursday Lurnea Lifestyle Centre clients, Rosanna and Eric participate in their work experience program at our Preston’s ADE, to better understand the workforce. Rosanna loves packaging the boxes and having time to socailise with other supported employees, staff who attend the site said “it was so great seeing her so happy that she could do a really good job, everyone needs to feel that they can achieve, I bet she will be very excited to go next week”. Eric from Lurnea Lifestyle Centre’s weekly visit to work experience gives him a chance to shine. This week was no different as Eric like every week was very motivated and very capable spending many hours assembling boxes which leaves him feeling so good about himself and his achievement. Staff at the site exclaimed “Eric is one of Lurnea’s most dedicated and best work experience clients. He is such a nice young man that is always polite and is a pleasure to work with”. Keep up the great work guys and we look forward to hearing more wonderful stories in the future!
Afford Join The Circus At Mater Dei Fundraiser Afford staff recently got all dressed up to enjoy a night out at the circus themed Mater Dei School Foundation Dinner at The Cube, Campbelltown Catholic Club. Afford were sponsors at the event which was attended by over 900 people. Apart from the stunning circus theme, the night featured a wide range of great entertainment including a silent and public auction and a number of extremely talented school performers. A big thank you to all the staff who attended to support Afford on the night.

Cooking With Supermum, Tahira Khalid Recently at our Mt Druitt Lifestyle Centre, one of our staff Ursula Todd was able to initiate a wonderful experience for our cooking Program. Tahira Khalid is the Mother of one of our amazing clients, Fahad. Tahira volunteered her time to support our cooking program participants to prepare an Indian dish called Chicken Biryani. Tahira purchased the ingredients and then involved the clients in preparing and cooking the dish. Tahira enjoyed the experience so much, that Tahira is excited by the idea of potentially attending other Lifestyle Centres to demonstrate how authentic Indian food is prepared.
