Residents of the Afford Group Home in Penrith - True Blue - have painted their garden beds to add a splash of colour and excitement to their backyards. Many of the residents said that the galvanised silver of the garden beds were too harsh on their eyes, so they decided to paint them! An outing to Bunnings was enjoyed by all where residents and Afford support staff spoke with the experts about what they needed and what to buy. Residents came up with the idea of personalising the three garden beds in the same colour across all of the True Blue sites. The colours were chosen and the painting began! The decoration of the garden beds has been an ongoing project for the past two months during the gardening club and art groups. Afford staff were there with encouragement for all the residents to make it their own and they truly have made the garden beds a spectacular adornment for the True Blue Group Home.
A Final Farewell to Chris Shi It is with great sadness that we farewell one of our beloved Canley Vale clients, Christopher Shi. Chris passed away in hospital last week after battling for some time with pneumonia. Chris will be sadly missed by all Canley Vale Staff and clients.

Warragamba Dam Walk Penrith Transition to Work Trainees enjoyed a hands on learning experience during a trip to Warragamba Dam on 1 March as part of an activity on health and the environment. It was a wonderful experience for trainees to extend their knowledge about where our drinking water comes from and how the Dam works. Trainee’s were able to engage in hands on learning experiences through visual and interactive touch and learn displays. Trainees were enthusiastic to put together a project on what they had learnt during their visit to Warragamba Dam.
Teppanyaki Flaming Buzz The Campbelltown and Oran Park Buzz Night at Sasuki Teppanyaki Restaurant in Narellan on 16 March was a huge success with all staff from Campbelltown and Oran Park Lifestyle Centres attending. It was a great opportunity for staff to bond together and learn more about each other in a social environment. It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome new team members and for everyone to let their hair down and enjoy a night out.
