You’ll be living close to the centre of this historic village, with good shops, pubs and restaurants, together with supermarkets, a GP surgery and Post Office.
There is plenty to keep children and yourself entertained. Explore the fields, get fit at the leisure centre or simply relax with a coffee in a local café.
Beyond Goldthorpe.
Goldthorpe might have everything you need, but there is lots to do further afield too, especially if you love to shop ‘til you drop.
Cortonwood Shopping Park is just 5.5 miles, Yorkshire’s largest shopping centre Meadowhall is 12 miles away, while Sheffield’s Fox Valley with its countless high-street brands is 15 miles.
Enjoy a day at the races with family or friends at Doncaster Racecourse, or take them to nearby Phoenix Park, with its iconic sculptures, fantastic wildlife and incredible views towards the Peak District.
If the great outdoors is right up your street, there’s also the RSPB Dearne Valley nature reserve 4.4 miles from home, with viewing hides and walking trails. Plus, you will find animals from the Amazon to Africa at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park 17 miles away.

You have plenty of options by car, with the A1 just 10 minutes away and the M1 9 miles to the west. It’s also around 9 miles to Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham.
For train travel, Goldthorpe Station runs regular services to Rotherham, Sheffield and Leeds. Doncaster Station, only 6.4 miles away, offers connections to London King’s Cross and major cities in the north.
