New staff members Amos and Alex join the team! A brand new foundation-level English program has been launched. New research into the challenges facing young people launched.

Volunteers have trained local community members to create a micro-tourism enterprise which offers walking tours in the local community for tourists.

6 Rafiki, the micro tourism enterprise recently expanded into offering a Moshi Town tour! Volunteers held additional training on methods to expand their business and the group welcomed their first clients onto their new tour! It’s great to see the project growing!

Volunteers created a research project to assess the main challenges facing young people in our local community.

Volunteers conducted workshops in 6 schools in order to retrieve data regarding young people’s opinions about early pregnancy, sexual health, access to education, employment opportunities and safety.

8 interviews were held with key informants from local NGOs and authorities in order to understand the bigger picture around the challenges in the local community.

After analyzing the data from 284 young people we will work to counter-act the challenges identified, by launching workshops in secondary schools to educate and empower young people about career planning, sexual health and decision making.

We are delighted to launch our brand-new project which will focus on empowering members of the Maasai tribe here in Tanzania.

This project will support Maasai warriors by teaching them basic skills such as how to read and write, as well as English and business knowledge.

We currently have 15 Maasai students learning how to read and write for the first time after not getting the opportunity to attend school as children.

Volunteers painted 2 classrooms with educational pictures and English resources in our local nursery school.

Volunteers spent 30 hours painting the school, making the classrooms bright and colorful!

Volunteers also painted the alphabet and numbers on the walls outside the school providing our nursery school students with a great environment to learn in.
