18 children aged between 6 months and 4 years were assessed across 36 developmental areas at our emergency foster care center. A comparison was possible for 10 children, with an average improvement of 2.9 developmental areas per child noted!
“I am confident that I will continue to cherish all of my experiences here with the local communities and with my fellow volunteers. I felt completely at home in the volunteer house and loved every single person and staff. I would 100% recommend working with African Impact and visiting Cape Town.” -
Carrie Douglass, Girl Impact Project

Staff and volunteers had the opportunity to join children and grannies from our aftercare center on an enrichment excursion. Almost 100 children were treated to a walking tour of the world-famous V&A Waterfront, plus a scenic boat cruise, ride on the Cape Wheel and Art Jamming session to get the creative juices flowing. Assessments before and after the trip showed an average knowledge increase of 38%!

LC, we have to agree. We think this photo is priceless and definitely worth the leap!
“I had an amazing two weeks on the Orphan & Vulnerable Children project in Cape Town. Although having only been here for a short time it’s easy to see the difference you can make in the lives of the children. The whole experience has been truly rewarding!” - Sarah, UK
