With the help of our Foundation, the Rural Teacher Development Training program started. This program enables 20 teachers from 10 creches across the surrounding community to commence training as Early Childhood Educators. Watch this space for exciting updates!
•
Hygiene has been the theme recently, with students in local creches learning how to stay clean. This included everything from washing hands to brushing teeth.
•
Our volunteers were able to work with over 500 children in creches across St Lucia, almost 100 children at reading club and 50 girls at Girl Club – now that’s IMPACT!

We recently welcomed 16 volunteers from Minnesota, USA, to our medical program. Joining us for two weeks, this group of nursing students have been a huge help to the community – THANK YOU!
•
Our medical volunteers also helped out at Gogo’s (Grandmas). Gogo alone cares for 9 grandchildren and life can be pretty tough. Simply helping bath a child is a huge help to her.
•
Volunteers assisted over 650 patients in clinics, giving clinic staff a much-needed rest. Khula Clinic is a 24hour service and nurses are so appreciative of the assistance we provide!
•
Over 60 patients were also transferred to clinic, receiving valuable medical care that they otherwise would not be able to access.
•
To further reach families without transport and to assist with their ongoing care, our volunteers made over 130 home visits to provide care or support.
The experience is amazing and the women that you work with are incredible people. It is a great experience to engage with the community and work with the people through African Impact. – Andrew, USA, Medical Volunteer
