Foundations go in on the ASIC ward and two other new wards
The local contractors’ team lay the foundations of the new wards, allowance has also been made for a permanent x-ray unit which AfriKids is currently fundraising for.

The AfriKids- Ghana Health Services (GHS)Southampton Universities Hospital Trust (SUHT) Partnership is officially launched In January 2010 a delegation from SUHT travelled to Ghana to create the official partnership agreement with Ghana Health Services and AfriKids Ghana. The first phase of this will be a two year programme of training and professional exchange. Funding has been secured from the Tropical Health Institute via its International Healthcare Links programme and the Ghana Health Service.
