Hundred of Deltas poured onto the National Mall for the Centennial welcoming event and public meeting of Delta Sigma Theta (DST) Sorority presided over by national president, Cynthia M.A. Butler-McIntyre. Crimson and White could be seen in all directions. of DST reaching this illustrious milestone. There were also presentations of proclamations by the county executives of Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties followed by special remarks from the Lt. Governor of Maryland, Anthony Brown. The afternoon’s activities concluded with high-energy musical performances by singers, Brandy and Doug E. Fresh. With this event, the 51st National Convention was off to a rousing start and a hats off to the national convention cocoordinators, local chapter presidents, Rosie AllenHerring and A. Chevelle Glymph Foster of the Federal City and Washington DC Alumnae chapters respectively...Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service; the Torch has arrived!

The Ernest Everett Just Foundation hosted an evening to honor members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority who defend our nation on the occasion of the sorority’s centennial celebration. Just was a co-founder of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. The event was held at the Bolling Club at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling Air Force Base (JBAB), Washington, D.C.
