AFRICAN EXCHANGE LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR is the biggest African conference, which takes place during one week with 200 students from universities and higher institutions coming from around 20 countries from Africa and abroad. AFROXLDS 2012 will start from 26th March to 1st April 2012 in Maputo, MOZAMBIQUE. Fees Delegate Fee: 200 USD=5.420 Meticais (per person) Damage Fee: 20 USD=542 Meticais (per person, will be reimbursed to your country if no damage is done) Late Registration Penalty: 100 USD=2.710 Meticais (for registrations submitted after 23:59 GMT on 8th March) Maputo City Tour: 30 USD=813.00 Meticais Inhaca Island Trip: 60 USD=1.626.00 Meticais Each delegate, whose application has been approved by AI, shall also be liable to pay a cancellation fee of 220 USD if they fail to turn up for the conference. This penalty however will not be applicable if the delegation replaces the delegate with another delegate from the same country and AI approves the replacement delegate. If you have any doubt about list confirmation, please contact your MCP. A list of approved delegates for each country would be sent to your respective MC’s two weeks before the conference to enable you make your payments to your delegate head.
IMPORTANT: All payments to the CC bank account can be made in dollars (USD) or in metical (MT) only. You are encouraged to transfer your delegate and damaged fees to the CC bank account ahead of time to ease registration & check-in Thus; $220 or 5962MT respectively. If you plan to pay after that, please give your fees to your assigned country delegate head (chief of the delegates) in cash (only MT) to be paid at check-in for you. There is no ATM or currency exchange facility at the conference venue, the nearest one is a 30 minute drive away. All cash fees must be paid in Meticais. If a delegate cancels his/her registration of Afro XLDS 2012 he is obliged to pay the full Delegate Fee. We recommend that you
bring the cash in USD to Mozambique, as you may lose money on exchanging into Meticais and then USD. You are encouraged to change the money at Maputo International Airport to ease registration & check-in.
The request for an ENTRY VISA to Mozambique can be made at any Mozambique consulate or embassy overseas. Here is the list of things you need to have to apply for your VISA: A VISA APPLICATION A photocopy of your PASSPORT A round AIR TICKET for Mozambique 2 ID pictures An individual INVITATION LETTER Visa FEE Delegates who do not have Mozambique embassy in their country can get visa in the different borders of Mozambique in their arrival, for it they may have the document below: A VISA APPLICATION A photocopy of your PASSPORT A round AIR TICKET for Mozambique 2 ID pictures An individual INVITATION LETTER Visa FEE You have to send copy of your passport to CCVP Delegate Servicing as soon as possible to facilitate entry. Visa fee is 85USD or 2303.50 Meticais
To enter the country a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required. Each delegate should get the vaccine in his country and present the vaccine card at the arrival in the airport. If the delegate doesn’t get the vaccine in his country he can also get the vaccine at the health department of the airport for the price of 50 dollars, 40euros or 1.350 Meticais.
Health insurance is mandatory for all delegates of AfroXLDS 2012. You will need to show proof of travel/health insurance during check-in, all delegates that do not possess travel insurance will be charged an additional 50 USD for a travel insurance provided by the Congress Committee.
The CC will arrange the transportation for all delegates to/from the point of pickup that arrive between the 25th of March 9am and 26th of March 12pm and leave the site on 1st of April after closing plenary (3pm). 25th March Transportation will be provided for delegates from Maputo International Airport to the center of the city (Sé Catedral Church). See the map . 26th March The transportation will be from the Center of the City (Sé Catedral Church), at 7 a.m. to the Opening Ceremony place (Joaquim Chissano International Conference Center). For arriving delegates the transportation will be made from Maputo International Airport, at 7:30 a.m. directly to the Opening Ceremony place (Joaquim Chissano International Conference Center). At the end of the day the CC will provide transportation to the Congress Venue at ARASul "Clube A Palhota" Resort IMPORTANT: Please make sure that you arrive before 8am on 26th to receive the President. For those who don’t arrive on time will not attend to Opening Ceremony. CC will provide transportation for delegates until 12PM. After that time, CC is not responsible for transportation. Please put fulfill your arrival details .
If you arrive before the CC shuttle provided, there are taxis in the airport; a taxi ride to the city centre will cost you around 400 MT (15USD).
