About Dementia

Age Scotland’s forum for people living with dementia and unpaid carers continued working to bring about change and improvement in policy and practice.

In 2022 our work was recognised and supported by the Scottish Government through a £1 million multi-year investment to support dementia-friendly communities in Scotland.

People with lived experience of dementia were at the heart of our grants programme through its design and decision making. We worked to support the development of the new National Dementia Strategy through a nationwide series of engagement events with people living with dementia, unpaid carers, and professionals.
