IMPACT Retreat Unveils Student Priorities, Challenges, and Opportunities
To begin the Fall semester, our chapter and council presidents attended a three-day IMPACT leadership retreat program at Summer Mills Conference Center in Belton, Texas The overnight retreat convened fraternity and sorority members to explore pressing issues and chart a path forward for the community Against the backdrop of evolving student priorities and challenges, participants engaged in candid discussions, reflecting on the state of member development, chapter operations, and broader engagement within the Greek system. The retreat served as a crucible for ideas, fostering a collective vision for enhancing community cohesion, personal growth, and organizational effectiveness
Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) recently conducted a survey targeting advisors to gather crucial information The survey explored advisors' organizational affiliations, tenure, and relevant topics: Diversity in affiliations highlight the varied experiences of our advisors, enriching the FSL community 1 Insights into advisors' tenure provide valuable continuity data, aiding in mentorship and succession planning 2. Advisor interest and topic relevance, guide FSL's future initiatives 3 FSL encourages all advisors to participate, aiming to enhance support services and programming based on your feedback.
On February 27th, Fraternity & Sorority Life hosted Dylan Murray, Assistant Director of Campus Engagement and Traditions on our monthly advisor development session He assists with student organization conduct and accountability by training and coordinating the Student Organization Accountability Board (SOAB)
Dylan answered questions regarding the conduct process, discussed emerging trends in the Aggie Greek community, and provided tips and strategies for navigating SOAB process and the ways in advisors could effectively advocate for support our respective organizations
National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)
Throughout the semester, NPHC has created personalized cards for nursing home residents, hospital patients, and elementary students, spreading joy and comfort Additionally, they have hosted a successful NPHC Week, celebrating unity and culture, and showcasing the strength of the NPHC community through various events and activities Finally, as part of Black History Month, NPHC hosted an insightful panel discussion on the “Art of Stepping,” honoring its significance in African American culture
Interfraternity Council (IFC)
IFC is bustling with activity, having recently clinched the prestigious Community Cultivation Award at SGLA and successfully concluding their IFC LEAD program Currently, IFC is diligently conducting Continuous Open Bidding (COB), demonstrating their commitment to expanding their community Additionally, they're gearing up for the highly anticipated IFC Olympics, where fraternity chapters will showcase their camaraderie, athleticism, community service, and philanthropy
Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)
The MGC is poised to make a significant impact this semester In recent news, Evelyn Perez, MGC Executive Vice President, was elected to the Southeastern Greek Leadership Association’s Student Board As for our upcoming MGC Week, this year's agenda features a robust lineup of events aimed at fostering community engagement and celebrating Asian and Latina/o/x culture, as well as, multiculturalism: Taste of Asia, MGC Showcase, and “Paws” & Unwi
Collegiate Panhellenic Council (CPC)
The Collegiate Panhellenic Council is actively preparing for fall recruitment, recently finalizing interviews to select a substantial team of 80-90 recruitment counselors and leaders With a commitment to enhancing efficiency and overall experience, the council is strategically planning improvements to the recruitment process Stay tuned for updates as they work diligently towards a successful recruitment season
Order of Omega (OOO)
Order of Omega is set to initiate 76 new members, including members from each of our four councils, on March 5th Following the initiation ceremony, members will have access to free professional headshots Alongside this initiative, Order of Omega is currently prioritizing professional development, National Hazing Prevention Week, and post-graduation transition support
