AGHA CHATS WITH: Madras Link

Madras Link has been a key player in the gift and homewares industry since the early 90s. From the beginning, Madras Link established a signature look for their homewares range - one that's stylish, classical and backed by enduring quality. They began with wholesaling textile homewares products such as napery, kitchen textiles, cushions, throws and bedding, then expanded their homewares range to include furniture, decorator items, doormats and rugs.

Madras Link’s tabletop range is one of their best-sellers and well received by all their customers. All their designs are printed on interesting base fabrics to create table linen that is both good quality and stylish. Their designs are applied across a number of different materials, hard placemats and serving ware to grant customers the opportunity to create their own coordinating look.

To maintain a competitive edge, every seasons’ range starts with a comprehensive storyboard reflecting distinct seasonal themes that build on previous ranges. Travelling, looking for new products, analysing the changes in lifestyle trends and adhering to their mission of developing and supplying stylish, affordable homewares for everyone is key for Madras Link.

Their inspiration is gleaned from travel experiences, the environment, social media and observing national and international lifestyle changes. The casual, relaxed and outgoing Australian lifestyle is the overriding emotion that inform their designs.

Notably, Madras Link's long-standing relationships with their suppliers allows the creation of many wonderful products from around the world, coordinated together to create a signature look.

An example is Madras Link’s new rug suppliers, based in Northern India, who enlightened new weaving techniques. In turn, helping Madras Link expand their range to include a number of stunning patterned rugs.

According to Madras Link COO Lou Stefanovski, trade fairs permit the opportunity to demonstrate how their products work together in creating inviting and aspirational living environments, showing that it does not have to cost a lot to create a stylish and joyful environment.

Through AGHA Gift Fairs, Madras Link have met many retailers who have not only stocked their products in stores, but have become long-time friends
