Step 1

Inspect your cow carefully. Make sure it’s not a bull.

Step 2

Talk to your cow. Tell her how you feel. Communication strengthens your relationship.

Step 3

Find a good bucket for milk. Something your cow likes. Avoid red colors.

Step 4

Get a sturdy short stool. Sit on the same side of your cow every time. Cows like routine.

Step 5

Wash your cow’s udder with soap and warm water. Apply Vaseline. Be gentle. Don’t make your cow mad.

Step 6

You and your cow are now ready. Wrap your hands around two of four teats. Again, be gentle this is not a faucet.

Step 7

Squeeze the base of the teat then down to push out the milk. Repeat until it looks deflated. Note, every teat will release whole milk. Cows do not produce skim or 2% milk.

Whole Milk ONLY

Step 8

If you are still unable to milk your cow, you may be missing a farmer’s gene. Don’t become discouraged. Your local supermarket has plenty of milk.
