SD State Extension Service - VP's Visit Doesn't Resolve US-China Trade Issues Estate Planning Sessions BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) _ South Dakota State University extension educators are planning estate planning training sessions in Aberdeen, Sioux Falls and Mitchell. The Sustaining the Legacy conferences are also designed to people who seek transition of their farm or ranch from one family member to another. Livestock business management field specialist Heather Gessner says the sessions will help farm and ranch families address questions they may face as parents or grandparents get older and consider their legacy. Sessions are planned for March 12, 19 and 26 at the Aberdeen Regional Extension Center, March 13, 20 and 27 at the Sioux Falls Regional Extension Center and March 14, 21, 28 at the Mitchell Regional Extension Center. The training costs $75 per person, and registration is required by March 6.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) _ Despite the goodwill expressed with Champagne toasts and speeches on cooperation during Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping's visit to the farm belt this week, the world's two largest economies still have thorny disagreements over agricultural trade to resolve. Whether it's apples, beef or chicken, trade remains complicated. China and the U.S. are among each other's most important trade partners, but both want the other to buy more. The U.S. has complaints about China's import taxes and refusal to buy beef, while China wants the U.S. to lift its poultry restrictions. It's a sign of agriculture's importance that Xi chose to make it a focal point of this week's trip. US officials say this wasn't the time to focus on differences, but they plan a trade mission to China in March.

Coulter kits from Ron’s Manufacturing converts any chisel plow to a year-round tool to prepare your fields.
Kits are all steel with 4 bearings and include 18" boron “earthen harden” 13 wave coulter blades and bolts.
In the fall, it can be used to lightly till the soil and incorporate and size residue. It is also a practical way to dry out wet soils. The Vertical Tillage Coulter Kit Attachment works well in no -till conservation tillage, as well as conventional tillage operations, extending the growing season and creating better planting conditions. Vertical tillage prepares the soil to warm more quickly in early spring, energizing the seedbed for maximum growth and yield potential. The Vertical Tillage Coulter Kit Attachment is a smart investment in that it has multiple uses which will ultimately produce savings in terms of time and money. It also has a low operating cost per acre and can be used in a wider range of conditions than most tillage tools. It operates at a relatively high speed of 6 to 12 MPH which saves time.
