Agni Shekhar

Born in Kashmir,1955,did his Post-graduation & Ph-D in Hindi literature from University of Kashmir..developed keen interst in Kashmir History,its indigenous mythology,its art and architecture,literature & folk- lore.also,contribution of Kashmir to the world in terms of philosophy,aesthetics/poetics,History- writing ,spread of Buddhism in Central Asia,China,Tibbet to South Asia. He hae been an extensive traveller & ace hiker. He wrote critically aclaimed research articals on sociological aspects of nicknames,abuses,swears,folk-beliefs(superstitions included),proverbs,tales etc.and as ill- luck would have it,he lost this vast fund of literary wealth & all his certificates ,& other valuable documents ,some rare manuscripts,artifacts etc (packed hurriedly in a sack) while fleeing from Kashmir in 1990 in cross-firing between security- forces & separatist Jihadi terrorists at famous Lalchowk.
