Jose Pedro Alonso Milralles

Spanish artist José Pedro Alonso Miralles offers poignant commentaries on today’s society. His work narrates his daily encounters with a violent and corrupt reality; his distrust in the institutions and the fragility of life. Grotesque Kafkaesque creatures with elongated limbs and clawed feet inhabit his world: anthropomorphized insects, weird mechanized beings, phallic symbols. They are our worst nightmares come true and as we look at them, we cannot but stare in horror. Alonso Miralles lifts the veils of illusion that cover reality, exposing it like pulsating raw flesh. There are no more lies and there is no way out. We are trapped, like the three football players in “Campeones,” whose arms are missing; and we are alone and destitute, like the man in “Autorretrato,” begging in the street. Alonso Miralles’ surrealist paintings are like Cassandra’s premonitions: truths we prefer to ignore, because they are too scary to be contemplated.

Paul Blumenthal

Montana-based painter Paul Blumenthal crafts oil and watercolor landscapes that blend direct observation and sincere emotional expression. Blumenthal’s work echoes a profound affection for the world. A practicing architect for most of his life, Blumenthal started with sketches of landscapes and buildings, during his travels in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. These drawings evolved into meticulous studies on tablets and, eventually, vibrant watercolors. His current focus lies in landscapes, both real and imagined, capturing the essence of a place through uninhibited observation. Steering away from reality, his recent creations embody raw emotion, translating into compositions that merge painting and drawing, emphasizing expression above all else. Whether Montana’s mountains or the Israeli desert, his art aims to stir the heart and evoke a sense of wonder in those who behold it.

Tammy Conover

Tammy Conover is a self-taught artist working in acrylics, oils, and various other mediums. Her passion has always been in art. When she started on her spiritual journey these two paths intertwined; art and color combined with love and connection to Spirit/God.

Conover experiences each painting in an energetically unique way. As an intuitive artist, sometimes, she has a clear vision when she starts a painting with the colors and energy coming forth. Other times, the colors and energy surprise her, too. She is energetically connected to every single color and drop of paint on the canvas. With every stroke, she experiences emotions and feelings as the colors flow through her. She infuses passion into every painting. Her intent is for people to experience the energy, colors, and vibrations that are coming from each painting. She believes every piece of art can speak to many and can be healing for both artist and viewer.

Maria Regina Garciga

In order to create her artworks, Maria Regina Garciga focuses on a minuscule segment of a photograph, which is usually an inch or a quarter of an inch long. Ruiz pores over this segment in order to magnify it and, in doing so, reveal the allure of detail and the pockets of life that we overlook. Ruiz chooses her subject matter based on what catches her eye and allows her process to guide her forward. Ruiz’s mastery of the technical aspects of painting captures our imagination and allows us to ruminate upon every line and area of color she creates. In fact, her color choices stem from her desire to keep the colors as pure as possible and respect them for what they are. Therefore, she seldom mixes colors on her canvas.

Ruiz was born in Peru and now lives in Houston, Texas. In addition to her career as a painter, Ruiz is a teacher, and she holds a PhD in History, Literature, and Philosophy. Her art has received recognition at various art shows and galleries and has recently been exhibited in Red Dot Miami 2023; Soliloquio, Arte Borgo Gallery, Salerno, Italy; Firenze Contemporary II, Rossocinabro Gallery, Florence, Italy; Contemporary Venice 2022 – 11th Edition ITSLIQUID International Art Fair Venice, Palazzo Bembo, Venice, Italy. Ruiz is also well-traveled, and her travels provide her insight into the importance of color in various world cultures. She aims for her artwork to foster an appreciation for the little things in life, to allow the viewer to see the details of their own life in a different light.

Dita Jacobovitz

Dita Jacobovitz is an Israeli oil landscape painter. A member of the Circle Foundation for the Arts and featured in the WE Contemporary Art book in 2021, Art Dubai, and the NY Affordable Art Fair, Jacobovitz has been creating art since she was young, developing her distinctive style over time.

Jacobovitz aims to convey a clean, serene landscape where her viewers can feel at peace. As we gaze into her scenes, we can almost smell the freshness of the grass on the hills or hear the water splash in the Dead Sea. Jacobovitz’s landscapes have a timeless quality that allows us to fully appreciate nature the way she does. “Art gives you the freedom to create a new, maybe an even better reality and use explicit and implicit messages,” she says.

Hathairat Maneerat

Hathairat Maneerat is a New York City-based artist born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. Hathairat began her career as a womenʼs wear fashion designer, establishing her namesake brand, Hathairat, in 2014. The Hathairat brand was known for its unique concepts and innovative designs. During the pandemic in 2020, Hathairat transitioned from fashion to visual arts. Hathairat began her art career as a self-taught artist and found that expressing her imagination, beliefs, and life philosophy on her canvases and in her sculptures allowed her to share her passions with the world. After establishing herself as a commissioned surrealist artist, in 2023, Hathairat decided to expand her art experience and education through the CFA program at the New York Academy of Art (currently CFA Class of 2024). Hathairat will be pursuing her MFA in 2025.

Hathairat’s love for art is unstoppable and she is constantly experimenting with new media and techniques to further express herself. As a former fashion designer, a key focus of each art piece is the female figure. Her art reflects her boldness, confidence, and playfulness through the use of color, the female figure, flowing fabrics, and unexpected geometric shapes. Her pieces have an emotional impact that emanates from lifeʼs traumas but are developed into positive and inspiring works of art. Much of Hathairatʼs art, and the subjects of many of her works, bridge the divide between art and fashion, resulting in unique imaginative art with a surrealistic style.

Hathairat lived across the globe, from Thailand to New Zealand to France before finding her home in New York City. Her global experience influences her art, expressing the nuances of different cultures, and nature and driving her choice of colors. As Hathairat develops each work, she combines her creativity with the real world around her, expressing her emotions and life experiences through a surrealist expression. Hathairatʼs goal is to connect people and create inspiration and hopefulness through her art.

Robbi Ling Montgomery

Robbi Ling Montgomery captures powerful yet healing themes in her photography. Her dual concentration of the natural and modern worlds yields a diverse, variegated body of work ranging from vibrant floral imagery to the quiet, timeless mystery and romance of the Tuscan alleyway paved with ancient bricks.

With her explorative use of post-processing visual and graphical techniques, Montgomery draws out what she calls the “hidden beauty” behind the picture. In this contouring of the imagery, she recaptures a unique expression of almost tactile presence that photography has always sought to grasp. By sharpening the contrast or asserting new color, she also communicates an emotive presence that brings the viewer that much closer to the experience within the image. Though trained in traditional photography at Chicago Botanic Garden’s Regenstein School, she delights in pursuing wildlife portraits. “I love to create stories with animals,” she says. In covering landscapes, her art also uses the natural kinesis in an ecosystem to tell a story.

Montgomery earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees at the University of Minnesota. As a lab scientist and educator in the healthcare field, her creative energies helped her design education units and creatively approach problem-solving while independently pursuing her artwork. She earned two certificates in photography from the Regenstein School after retiring to Illinois, where she creates and accentuates photography of the natural world around her in all seasons.

Chatchai Notananda

Chatchai Notananda was born in Thailand and lives there today. As such, his art mainly comments on Thai contemporary culture. Soaking up the natural, rural scenery of Thailand, he renders it into his abstract artwork. Notananda then aims to reduce the forms he retains in his inner thoughts into the visual language of abstraction. His work is characterized by a unique blend of emotional states and semiotics, using acrylic painting techniques and silkscreen printmaking. Additionally, he creates sound art, offering viewers new perspectives on culture and art.

Notananda received a Master of Visual Arts from Chiang Mai University and is a PhD in Art candidate. He exhibited extensively in galleries locally and internationally. In addition to art, Notananda devotes himself to music. He is a DJ and a founding member and drum machine player of EARSBLEED, a band known for its improvisational performances.

Yumi Song

The mixed media artwork of Korean artist Yumi Song is rooted in childhood nostalgia. Song summons fond memories of the city where she grew up, Mokpo, a cozy city embraced by the sea and the mountains. Song recalls the scent of her father’s oil paintings and doodling under the warm sunlight, often going out to stand by the dark blue sea and discover the tidal flats. These feelings, along with various Korean cultures and traditions like dance, martial arts, and calligraphy, color Song’s art. Her rhythmic works evoke the curves of martial arts and draw upon the approaches of calligraphy and meditation, bursting with movement and dynamism.

The repetition of spirals and curves in her work connect the historical past to the present and the future. Song recruits the idea of history’s linearity and its development in waves. She impresses the influence of her own hand to evoke this within her mixed media creations. Song has held numerous group and solo exhibitions of her work, which she has been practicing and adapting for over twenty years, and she is a member of both the Korean Fine Art Association and the Gwangju-Jeonnam Women Artists Association. She was also chosen for the final London Art Biennale Selection in 2021 and has won many artistic awards in Korea, including the Mudeung Art Competition Excellence Award. She explores the tenor and character of lines and forms in a manner unique to her experiences and inspirations, such that she reveals entirely new iterations of form not seen in another artist’s work.

Sherri Springer

Sherri Springer’s relationship with the arts has always been of a highly intuitive nature. When little, she would play the piano by ear, and, later composed numerous songs. During a very difficult time of loss, Springer found some refuge and calm through painting. “Each time my brush touched the canvas, my mind and heart temporarily seemed to rest as l was desperately trying to grasp the reality around me.”

Today, painting is a way for her to channel feelings of joy and pain, treasured memories, regrets, and many other emotions. “I want to connect the viewer with a sense of the fragility of life, as well as the importance and joy of living in the present. Pressing forward, hopefulness, positive and grateful living will help you better navigate through struggles in life.” Springer paints abstract expressionism with color and movement while choosing titles that also express these messages or themes. Alternating delicate shading and thick dynamic markings. When painting, Springer lets herself go completely, feeling her way on the canvas instinctively. Springer’s ebullient yet reflective personality shines through each of her paintings.

Originally from Montgomery, Alabama, Springer now resides in Birmingham, Alabama. She holds a business degree in Human Resource Management from Auburn University at Montgomery. After twenty years in the corporate world, in 2020 she became a full-time artist. Springer’s paintings have been exhibited locally and internationally. Her artwork was featured in House & Garden UK, The World of Interiors UK, and on HGTV’s My Lottery Dream Home.

Angela Thouless

Scottish artist Angela Thouless’ passion for urban art was sparked during her first trip to Amsterdam in 2012. In the neighborhood of Spuistraat, home to a community of creative types, she took countless pictures of decaying buildings and graffiti, traveling there almost every year to renew her repertoire. What attracted her was the impromptu and transient nature of street art as well as its multiculturalism, as many artists would come from outside the country to make murals. Her series of spray can tribal mask paintings was inspired by a workshop Thouless led in her hometown of Aberdeen, during which she painted on old spray cans. The suite is an exotic and luxuriant array of tribal masks incorporating elements from African, Asian, and South American traditions. The masks are depicted on spray cans and surrounded by lush patterns of plants and animals. The series has a distinctly metropolitan feel and celebrates diversity through a message of unity: we are one species and one tribe.

Thouless earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting and Master’s Degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Art and Design from Robert Gordon University’s Gray’s School Of Art in Aberdeen, Scotland. She exhibited widely in the UK as well as all over Europe and North America. She is the owner of TribeAll, which designs t-shirt collections of tribal masks from all over the world. As a designer, Thouless participated in the Aberdeen and Milan Fashion Weeks. Her work appeared in publications such as Elle Decor, Red Magazine, and House & Garden.

Britt-Marie Tidemand

There is a dark sensual fascination to Britt-Marie Tidemand’s paintings. The Swedish artist portrays the emotions buried deep within our psyche with fearless intensity. Grotesque faces emerge from a pitch black background, their mouths locked in an agonizing grimace; beautiful longilineal figures stand at the center of the canvas, looking back at us enigmatically, as if coming from a dream; twisted bodies float upside down in a sea of fire. The palette is warm: reds, oranges, yellows accompanied by shades of gold, chocolate, and black. The texture is buttery and soft, as conveyed by oil paint, either alone or mixed with sand from the shores of Gothenburg. Through her work Tidemand wants us to feel, hear, and see at all costs. Even if this means dragging us into the flames, blasting our ears with cries of agony, or dazzling our eyes with beauty.

Tidemand has exhibited widely in Scandinavia as well as in Italy and New York. Her art is on permanent display at Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden, and appeared on the cover of Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital’s 2009 and 2010 annual reports. Tidemand holds an MBA and a degree in Fashion Design. Alongside painting, she exercises her left brain cells as the CFO of a medical company.

Her art is the love child of realism, expressionism, and a whole other art form that is catching up with its title. Roan Yarn

Roan Yarn is a painter from Atlanta, Georgia. Utilizing oil and acrylic paints on canvas, he employs traditional painting techniques to create his works. Yarn draws inspiration from simple, everyday moments that resonate with him as soothing, satisfying, or noteworthy— whether it’s his backyard, his morning commute, a cup of coffee, or images he finds online. He is particularly captivated by the interplay between the subject and its setting, which defines the overall composition. Yarn begins his artistic process with a reference photo, which he transfers to the canvas either by freehand drawing or using the grid method, depending on the complexity of the composition. While his latest series focuses on landscapes, he is shifting his focus to interior-focused imagery, weaving together design elements with his personal aesthetic.

Yarn earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Morehouse College and an MBA from the Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University. Yarn participated in numerous exhibitions in the mid to late 1990s under the pseudonym RILLY (an acronym of his full name Roan Ivey Lee-Livingston Yarn). After a long hiatus, Roan rediscovered his love of painting during the pandemic and has since been actively producing new works under his first and last name, Roan Yarn. Today, he is both an artist and a real estate technology subject matter expert, and the Founder and CEO of Bricks, a web3-based real estate tokenization and trading platform.
