Artist Mehrnosh Kaecker graduated with a communication design degree from Hamburg Academy in Germany and her artwork has been shown and won awards internationally. She paints and draws in a variety of styles, but all of her work revolves around the theme of portraiture. As a freelance artist, Kaecker is constantly honing her technical skills to represent figures realistically. She continues to pursue additional education and has worked in a wide range of materials, but her preferred media are oil paints and graphite. She is commissioned by individuals for portraits and also paints famous artists and figures who inspire her. Kaecker considers the spirit of a person, as well as their appearance, when making a portrait. Often her artwork depicts figures in environments that emphasize certain aspects of the subject’s personality. Her artistic process involves genuinely getting to know her chosen subjects in order to best express their manner or spirit. She is most interested in visually representing the components of an individual that are timeless, the qualities that define a person throughout time.

I love to paint and draw realistic portraits. I try to capture the essence of those I paint with their own unique voice. More than simply just replicating my subjects, I passionately try to understand them so as to present my artwork powerfully, vividly and expressively. Ultimately there is a truth and timelessness. My chosen subjects are distilled in an exact moment and I patiently reflect on their presence. I share this appreciation of timelessness through painting and see life as it is in artistic representation. I try to capture my subjects’ true soul through their motives and emotions.
