Argintine-Spanish artist Silvia Monica Giammatteo paints expressive figurative works using predominantly acrylics, watercolors, and mixedmedia techniques on canvas. She employs bold and vibrant colors to provide her pieces with energy and strength. Her style is influenced by her Latin American and Spanish roots, as well as her love of Flamenco and Tango dance styles. Giammatteo often paints scenes of dancers, in which she seeks to capture the passion and beauty of their movements. She also draws inspiration from everyday people, their facial expressions and the way their body language conveys inner emotions. Through her work, Giammatteo seeks to excite and fascinate the viewer, transport them to other worlds, and leave them feeling determined and energetic. She wants her work to speak to second chances in life. In a fast-paced world where people’s lives often get stuck on a singular path, she tries to give viewers the chance to consider exploring new paths, and to be reminded of how energizing it can be to pursue happiness.

I mainly use acrylic and oil but also experiment with other materials like pencil drawing to create my work. Vibrant colors, which demonstrate energy and strength, are always present in my paintings. My style is figurative and I am attracted to scenes whose passion and beauty captivate me. I am inspired by everyday life as well as people I have encountered while traveling. Additionally, my fascination for facial expressions naturally inclines me towards portraiture. I seek to excite and fascinate viewers, transporting them to other worlds where they can feel alive and energetic.
