Adequate and healthy food - The rapid globalisation of our food systems have given rise to growing numbers of contradictions. While one in seven people worldwide suffer from hunger, another sample of the population suffers from obesity and other diseases caused by nutritionally unbalanced diets. And, while more meat and processed foods are being consumed, the meaning of food with its culinary traditions that contribute to our identities are becoming lost. This issue of Agriculturas focuses on different ways of transforming agriculture and food systems based on agroecological principles, in order to ensure the right to adequate and healthy food for all.
