Family farming and nutrition - The International year of Family Farming has drawn to a close but it remains clear that nearly one billion people worldwide, two thirds of whom are family farmers, suffer from malnutrition. The causes are many, and so too are the solutions. But the 500 million family farmers across the world clearly play a central role in the fight against hunger and malnutrition. This issue of Agridape focuses on the building of stronger food systems around family farmers.
The articles look at a variety of initiatives highlighting the role of biodiversity, dietary diversity, women, children and policy.
