Your T8 tractor is powered by an ECOBlue™ HI-eSCR (High Ef ciency Selective Catalytic Reduction) Cursor 9 engine, which has been developed by New Holland’s sister company FPT Industrial. These engines, which comply with the even more stringent Tier 4B emissions norms, offer you four key bene ts: Performance: more power, torque, torque backup and Engine Power Management (EPM) whilst maintaining outstanding transient response. Ef cient Operation: the ﬂuid consumption (diesel plus AdBlue) will be the same or better than your Tier 4A T8. You will also bene t from reduced life-long operating costs. Simplicity: the simpler engine installation ensures a higher power potential and the reduced cooling system delivers more ef cient operation. Consistency: there will be no change in vehicle operation. THE PROOF IS IN THE NUMBERS ECOBlue™ HI-eSCR improves the exceptional performance and high productivity, independent of fuel quality, sulphur levels and without the need for costly diesel additives, that you’ve come to expect of your T8 tractor. All Tier 4B compliant T8 tractors bene t from higher rated and maximum powers to boost your output. A T8.320 is rated at 250hp, but with EPM will produce up to 320hp. The T8.350 is rated at 280hp but will deliver up to 351hp. The 311hp T8.380 and 340hp T8.410 develop up to 382 and 409hp respectively. The mighty T8.435 is rated at 379hp but will put out up to 435hp using EPM technology. POWERED BY FPT INDUSTRIAL New Holland is not going it alone when it comes to Tier 4 technology. They can draw on the experience of their in-house engine development group: FPT Industrial. Pioneers: Fiat invented Common Rail technology in the 1980s and brought it to the masses in 1997 on the Alfa Romeo 156. They were the rst to introduce it on agricultural machines on the TS-A tractor. Pioneering. Always.

With the DUW 580 Double-U pro le roller, Amazone has extended its programme yet further with another following roller for the Certos TX heavy compact disc harrow and for the Cenius TX mulch cultivator. The speci c feature of this roller is the 580 mm diameter U pro le rings which are open and become lled with soil during operation. Because of this adhering soil in the U pro les, a good soil to soil contact with the soil surface to be reconsolidated results so that roller slip is reduced. Also wear in the material of the U pro le rings is kept to a minimum. An additional strength is the very good passage resulting from the modular design of the DUW 580. Especially on light to medium, heavy soils, the earth ﬂows optimally through the rollers giving an improved levelling effect. This year the major arable farming event in the UK "Cereals" was held in Boothby Graffoe in Lincolnshire, attracting more than 24,000 visitors over the course of the two days. Direct sales approach makes Bauer slurry tankers more attractive for large-scale slurry and digestate spreading Bauer is re-launching its high-speci cation tankers in Britain by supplying contractors and large farm operators direct at more favourable prices but with service and parts support still available nationwide through Bauer dealers. “The market for large tankers with specialist application equipment is very competitive with a number of players involved,” says Adrian Tindall, Bauer UK & Ireland sales manager. “Dealing direct with the professional operators most likely to use our machines will enable us to ensure we provide the right features and speci cation for their needs, at prices competitive with other high-quality products.” Bauer tankers available in sizes from 10.5cu m to 24cu m – 10,500-litres to 24,000-litres – are unique in the UK and Ireland for having a hand-made polyester tank mounted on a galvanised steel chassis. The heart-shaped tank cross section results in a low centre of gravity for good stability in hilly elds and on the road, while indents provide ample space for wide and large diameter ﬂotation tyres to minimise soil compaction. Using polyester rather than steel saves a signi cant amount of weight over a quality-spec steel tanker – as much as 3 tonnes with the 24cu m model. It also provides a container impervious to corrosion. “That is particularly relevant to farms and contractors involved in handling biogas plant digestate, which can be more corrosive than regular livestock slurry,” notes Adrian Tindall. “Together with

the corrosion-resistant galvanised chassis, it means these tankers clean up really well and can look like new even after a lot of use, which results in strong re-sale values.” The tankers are available with Bauer spiral or centrifugal high capacity pumps giving fast lling and spreading rates. A front-mounted lling arm is available for quick turnarounds at the slurry store and a cleaner working experience for the operator. Application options include a double nozzle spray boom for surface spreading up to 27m wide, and a dribble hose applicator in widths from 9m to 30m with a macerating distributor, hydraulic drip stop and hydraulic folding. A drag shoe applicator with working widths of 5.3m to 21m provides in-crop application of slurry or digestate directly on to the ground; a disc injector in 5.2m to 8m widths places liquid beneath the surface for minimum losses through evaporation and quick resumption of pasture grazing; and a spring tine cultivator injector is available for incorporating slurry or digestate into seedbeds. Chassis options include a cranked single axle for smaller tankers in the range to give an extra-low centre of gravity; rear-steer tandem axles with leaf spring or air suspension – the latter is standard on the triple axle 24cu m model – and four-point rear linkage for a mounted applicator. “With all those options, each tanker is specced and priced individually,” notes Adrian Tindall. “But an 18.5cu m tandem axle machine with 15m dribble bar will be about £70,000; and an auto loading system will add around £6000.”

THE MIDLANDS MACHINERY show is returning to Newark Showground this year with a series of new product launches and technical seminars for the second year running. Organised by the Newark and Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society, the show is a platform for small to medium-sized agricultural businesses to show their diverse range of machinery and innovation to those who work and have an interest in agriculture. Taking place on 25 and 26 November 2015, the Midlands Machinery Show is well known as a rapidly growing event for visitors and traders to brush shoulders with some of the key innovators in industry. Entries are now open to dealers and manufacturers to book their trade spaces both indoors and outdoors. Organisers are encouraging exhibitors to book now and secure their place. Jayne Olney, showground manager, said: “This year is the second year we have run this event and we are looking forward to welcoming even more attendees than last year. “In its rst year, we had a tremendous amount of positive feedback from exhibitors and we pride ourselves on our ability to attract the big name brands in the agricultural industry while also maintaining a sense

Isuzu D-Max pick-up now available on NFU Vehicle Discounts scheme New initiative makes additional discount available to qualifying NFU members Isuzu UK is joining the NFU’s Vehicle Discounts scheme, through which eligible members can secure an additional discount on a new Isuzu D-Max pick-up. The offer of cially became available on 1 June 2015. The af nity programme is available to NFU Farmer and Grower, NFU Partner and NFU Retired members who meet the qualifying criteria* and the discount is additional to any individual deal reached by customers with their dealer. William Brown, Managing Director of Isuzu UK, said: “We’re proud to have struck this deal with the NFU, which does a great job in supporting and representing the interests of the farming community in the UK. Prices (before the discount) start from £14,999 (CVOTR) for the entrylevel single cab 4x2 rising to £22,999 (CVOTR) for the Isuzu D-Max Utah Auto double cab (the rangetopping Blade model – from £25,999 CVOTR – is not available through the NFU Vehicle Discounts scheme). The Isuzu D-Max is tted with a super-ef cient 2.5-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, producing 163 PS and 400 Nm of torque, returns fuel economy of 38.7 mpg (combined), and is available with a six-speed manual or ve-speed automatic transmission. It is certi ed to tow a class-leading 3.5-tonnes (with a braked trailer). 2014 was the best ever year for Isuzu in the UK with sales of over 5500 pick-ups and the growth has continued into 2015 with record sales in the rst quarter of over 1800 pick-ups.
