Gel Stains ProtoBlue Safe TM

Wash gel 3 times for 5 minutes with deionized water on an orbital shaker.

Eco-Friendly, Ultra Sensitive Colloidal Coomassie G-250 Stain

(This wash step is optional. A longer incubation in stain solution compensates for bypassing this step.)

Add 1 part ethanol to 9 parts staining solution while stirring. Standard denatured ethanol is fine.*

Samples separated on a 12% standard Laemmli gel, stained overnight with ProtoBlue Safe.

Add enough staining solution to completely cover the gel (20 - 50 ml).

With unmatched advantages in sensitivity, safety and waste disposal, ProtoBlue Safe represents the best all around stain for protein gels. In addition, ProtoBlue Safe is less costly than regular Coomassie staining, which requires large volumes of acetic acid and methanol for destaining. ProtoBlue Safe has the ability to detect less than 5ng denatured BSA, and contains no methanol, acetic acid, or other hazardous components.

Bands containing more than 1µg of protein will be detected within 15 minutes.

For full sensitivity (up to 5ng), incubate the gel in stain for at least 5 hours.

Protein Loading Buffer Blue (2X) National Diagnostics’ Protein Loading Buffer Blue (2X) is a readyto-use buffer solution for the preparation of protein samples to be separated in SDS-PAGE. Loading Buffer Blue (2X) contains Bromophenol Blue as a tracking dye to monitor the sample during the electrophoretic run.
