Message from Honourable Alison M. Redford, QC Premier of Alberta On behalf of the Government of Alberta, it gives me great pleasure to welcome all of you to the 2012 Ag-Expo and North American Seed Fair in the beautiful city of Lethbridge. Ag-Expo provides producers the opportunity to discover new and innovative products that can improve their agricultural production, including farm equipment, livestock supplies, chemicals, seeds, technology, and much more. In addition, attendees can meet with exhibitors offering brokerage services, communications and banking assistance. This event is also host to the North American Seed Fair, displaying more than 53 classes in Pedigreed Seed Classes, Open Classes and Junior Classes. The North American Seed Fair is one of the oldest seed fairs in Western Canada. Agriculture is the largest renewable industry in our province - it could be said it is the industry that connects all Albertans in our daily lives. For producers, agriculture is a business, but it is also a way of life that exemplifies a tradition of strong values and community spirit. The commitment and perseverance handed down from generation to generation is a legacy and a commitment to a lifestyle and industry that is the backbone of our province. This government supports Alberta’s agricultural sector and believes that our producers are the best in the world.
Mayor’s Message On behalf of Lethbridge City Council, I would like to welcome everyone to this year’s Ag-Expo - Western Canada’s Premiere Agricultural Show! The City of Lethbridge, in large measure, credits its’ success to the agriculture industry. As Lethbridge continues to grow and change, one factor remains constant; agriculture is big business in Southern Alberta and a cornerstone of our economy. More than 20,000 people are expected to walk through the doors at Ag-Expo this year. Visitors can expect to find numerous exhibitor booths displaying the latest and greatest of products which directly affect and improve agricultural production. They will find everything essential from equipment, seeds and livestock to irrigation and much more. They’ll also find new technology, communications, financial services and other tools to make the most of the agricultural industry. One of the highlights of Ag-Expo is the North American Seed Fair. With more than 50 classes, this seed fair is one of the longest running in Western Canada. Lethbridge businesses and services appreciate the boost to our economy that visitors to Ag-Expo bring to the community. We welcome you and encourage you to explore all that makes this city special.
