Presentation: Exploring the enrollment data collected by Enroll America Chris Keck, Enroll America Doug shared enrollment data that has been collected by Enroll America. The data provided insights into where the remaining uninsured live in our community, and the demographics of the uninsured. To view the slides used during the presentation, please click here. Group discussion  Are there any groups doing health literacy on top of health insurance enrollment? o Chris was aware of a group in Missouri that has seen success with connecting the newly insured to healthcare literacy resources. PrimaryOne Health has trained their CAC’s to become Community Health Workers. This empowers the assistors to connect the newly insured to resources in the community.  CACs at PrimaryOne Health are focused on targeting uninsured men. One strategy they are using is to help the uninsured set up temporary addresses at local organizations that will allow it.  Columbus Public Health will be hosting a session on August 22nd at 12pm to plan for community events focused on immigrant populations. If you are interested in participating please contact Emily Fisher (eefisher@columbus.gov).  Consistent messaging is critical to reaching uninsured populations. There continues to be a lot of misinformation regarding enrollment.  Important to not only focused on who is uninsured, but who is engaged in the process. May be worthwhile to explore opportunities for consumer engagement at a future session.  More effective to take enrollment to the uninsured rather than plan for them to come to you.  When working in the community it is important to engage key community leaders in your efforts. Planning for the future of the learning group Over the last few months the HCGC Board of Directors has been engaged in strategic planning for the organization. The strategic plan will help shape HCGC’s work over the next two to three years. As a part of this process the Board has taken time to review the work that HCGC is currently involved in to determine if it continues to align with the organization’s mission and future goals. After review, the Board determined that coordinating the Navigator & CAC Learning Group was an activity that did not align with the organization’s strategic plan moving forward. HCGC recognizes that the learning group continues to serve as a valuable information source for many assistors in the community. With that in mind we engaged session participants in a process to determine what group/organization would be best suited to coordinate the learning group moving forward. Participants spent time in small group discussion brainstorming and had two recommendations:  Enroll America was suggested as a potential leader of the group moving forward. Enroll America also indicated that they would be willing to serve that role.  Participants also suggested the group may be best served if lead by a committee of participants that represented multiple organizations. There was consensus in the room that the discussion would continue at the September session. Participants expressed support to have Chris Keck serve as an interim coordinator of the learning group.
