“A Work of Art … is not a living thing … that walks or runs. But the making of a life. That which gives you a reaction. To some it is the wonder of Man’s Fingers. To some it is the wonder of the Mind. To some it is the wonder of Technique. And to some it is how Real it is. To some, how Transcendent it is.”

In the heart of Islamabad there must be a building which can be a inspiration for a community, aesthetically as well as in sustainably. Selection of Hotel Islamabad is also for the same purpose. A building which is spending more than 1.5 lac rupees per day on fuel just because of energy crisis of Gas, can be solved by making it sustainable introducing Solar hot water system and Solar panels. My concept is Rubik Mirror Block which is a puzzle, and can be enjoyed with more difficult levels. Same is my inspiration and the style of my design is modern and sustainabilit. Color schemes of exterior are chosen from composition of Piet Mondrian’s composition no.9 as the composition is related to boxes. Also colors chosen are psychologically good for a Hotel and Restaurant, as Red is associated with more physical needs .i.e energetically, Yellow is related to enhance mind, a mind can be enhanced if it is relaxed and blue, This color is one of trust, honesty and loyalty, it is sincere, reserved. The building can become an inspiration for community by consuming less energy and producing more, this can be possible by introducing modern technology and using nature or natural elements in a building, this includes solar roofing in modern and green roof in natural/sustainable architecture. Grey water should be disposed of while rain water must be harvested, the water from kitchens and washrooms other than grey water can be re used in washrooms (flush). For Rain water harvesting Water bed is introduced. For the White Part of the Building Millennium cement which has a capacity to endure and is not affected by climatic conditions like rain, snowfall or sunrays is introduced while for insulation of Ground floor double glazed glass is used and recycled glass is used for upper floors. To keep the building insulated, Green roofs is used. Wind towers are used at both left and right elevations, the purpose is for good ventilation and introducing natural cool air rather than artificial.

Public Space

Ayubia-Nathia Gali

Triangle Compositions

Circle Compositions

Square Compositions

The task was to design a public space in Ayubia. My Concept was basis on hidden beauty of nature which people cant see or dont want to see. The main intention is to show the depth by achieving and making space to the negative levels of mountains. Contours were cutted and platforms were created as the original essence of public space shouldnt be destroyed. Form was originated from basic compositions of diffferent volumes.

Fear Allah not men! Art Installation

Form Development and Experimentation

Working and choosing Mosque in a theme of “Terrorism” is our sole idea. Purpose behind choosing this idea is to show Positive character of religion in this chaos of terrorism. The Highlight of my concept is “FEAR ALLAH NOT MEN”. Quran verses say this again and again. All the chaos in this world which is of course due to terrorism or maybe I can also include internal fears is created by human. We in this installation used mirrors to reflect the image of Mosque in a hole. We have got multiple holes in installation, only one got the reflected image of mosque in force perspective or we can say in a frame. While other holes contain different images of terrorism and types of terror, also two holes contain the reflect image of university and sky for interest and commemorating the incidence of Peshawar attack . University’s image is shown only because to show positivity in education as it is must to fight against terrorism. The outer form of Installation consists of Calligraphy of Surah Al- Imran ayah number 175. As Allah in this clearly says that Shaitaan will intimate you again and again and he is doing … and fear Allah not men if you are his true believer. Showing mosque with this perspective is the main idea. For the execution of this idea materials selected were plywood, mirrors and glass. The execution was a fun part. We learned a lot of materials importance. Also the physics of reflections make us frustrated. Well finally we achieved our target, we did something new. We learned how to handle plywood, arrangement of mirrors, some painting techniques.

Shopping Mall

Multi Storey Commercial

To design a Shopping mall which should be modernistic as well has cultural values. Elements of “BAZAAR were incorporated in it. Organic growth was a key concept which is translated through form and planning. Negative spaces were created intetionally so that a local seller/salesman can sale also on carts and the shops were deifined in a particular zone so that buyer is not disturbed. Also multifunctional spaces are created, for recreational a cinema/theatre, food court, and public spaces. Every space is uzitilze in its best manner.

Museum of Life and Death Intangible Experience

Museum of life and DEATH

* Supporting Black Box * Black box in a sense that the form of the building in the ethical sense does not overpower or diminish the value of what is being catered inside. * it means that the form and aesthic sense of building does propose a complimentary outlook as to not offend the program of the building. * The museum incorporates almost entirely of experiential program, creating a sense of drama to make people get more in touch with the intangible and spiritual virtues of life. * My concept has driven from the observation that people have become ignorant of the fact that there is an end known as death. * My museum and the many programs incorporated in it will explore the concept of death in religious, mythical, gore, horror and spiritual aspect. Why Death ? *When Death has been Studied before its more of a memorial standpoint. Like monuments and tombstones. In 20 th century Hospitals lead way to the life, to the ideal life, where people tend to die at home now die at hospital spaces. The narrative is about life and increased health, but Death is never meantioned in the whole story. *From religious aspect remembering death increases mental growth.

Evergreen Secondary School

Sustainable Multiple Pro

Cricket Ground

Building as a louvre is my main concept on which I have worked on,all the basic tactics to design a school with its core functions sustainable on a contoured area was a difficult task. The functions first placed sequence wise. Every building has a NS orientation as that is most suitable in our region. I planned a module and designed it, so that maximum natural ventilation of light and wind could be possible. One module is planned and fixed in a grid system which is more or less a louvre itself so that it can reflect summer light at the same time providing more than sufficient light in class rooms and same in winter. Common learning spaces are given so that mutual growth for every student could be possible. Also reuse concept was applied:total cutted area is 5883300 cubic ft. so the same earth is reused in making bricks.4800 bricks were baked from this earth.

To design a highrise, full of luxury fullfilling the programs and all the needs of residents. All types of apartments, commercial area including shops, luxuries like swimming pool, jogging tracks, gymnasium and much more...The Concept is to design a living in which every single group has its own isolation space, open corridors are given. WIND was main part of my building. Every single group has its own garden and terrace. Whole building has three connection spaces.
