Revit Essentials Course For Beginners


Course Description Users are introduced to the concepts of Building Information Modelling and the tools for parametric building design and Documentation. Users begin with learning the fundamentals features of Autodesk Revit Architecture, and then progress through schematic design, construction documentation, and design Visualization.

Duration 36 Hours divided into 12 Sessions, through this course two projects will be addressed: • Interior Project for a Kitchen. • Complete Drawings For Villa Savoye (Plans, Façades, Sections, 3D).


Course Contents  1. Introduction to “BIM” Concept and Tools.  2. User Interface - Getting Familiar with Revit Environment.  3. Navigation and Setting a Project Template.  4. Basic Modelling Tools (walls, Floor, Roof, Stairs).  5. Adding Components and Family Editing.  6. Materials and Rendering.  7. Presentation and detailing.  8. Printing and Documentation.  9. Add-ins and additional Tools (Analysis Tools, Site Creation, ..).  10. Starting New project (Villa Savoye).  11. Continue working on (Villa Savoye).  12. Exporting to Lumion.


• User Interface - Getting Familiar with Revit Environment In this session we’ll have an introduction to BIM and Revit A, then discuss the User Interface and highlight the most important tools that we will use a lot. Application Menu (R)

• Navigation and Setting a Project Template In this session we’ll discuss the Navigation through the Revit A and explore various ways to maintain the project views and levels. After that we’ll discuss setting Template to start a simple project and then progress through schematic Design, construction documentation, and design visualization.


• Basic Modelling Tools (walls, Floor, Roof, Stairs) In this session we’ll discuss the Basic modelling tools, and then we’ll continue the Kitchen project.


• Adding Components and Family Editing. In this session we’ll continue working in our project and adding components and other types of families needed to complete and finalize the project.


• Materials and Rendering In this session we’ll discuss the material editor and apply the materials to our model.


• Presentation and detailing In this session we’ll discuss section and plan detailing and presentation.


• Printing and Documentation In this session we’ll continue setting sheets and Title-blocks for printing and exporting to Auto-Cad.


• Add-ins and additional Tools (Analysis Tools, Site Creation,..). In this session we’ll discuss various add-ins and tools that have various function and applications.


• Starting New project (Villa Savoye) In this session we’ll start practice and apply what we learned through the last sessions, to generate complete drawings and model for Villa Savoye.


• Continue Working on (Villa Savoye) In this session we’ll continue working in our project and preparing the model for exporting to Lumion.


• Exporting to Lumion In this session we’ll have an introduction to Lumion software, then we’ll export the model and progress through materializing and setting the environment for Render.
